Loved this Haiku and photos of one of my favorite kinds of trees.

There is a weeping willow tree a few houses down from me and it always makes me feel peaceful when I turn onto our quiet street.

      Hub Hugs,

      Gail

Lovely Haiku. I especially enjoyed your photos. I spent some of my childhood with my great grandparents in the mountains of West Virginia. As a child, the only tree I could identify was the weeping willow. It quickly became my favorite tree and remains so even today. Thank you. Voted up, interesting and beautiful.

Hi Lesley - I love it! Fabulous angles for photographing the Willow. It reminds me of when I was at primary school and would visit a friend who had a river nearby - there were quite a few weeping willows there. I loved how the branches hang down to offer shade - or provide branches to swing on (a bunch at a time and only for kids of course!) LOL! Voted up and awesome. :)

Voted up and beautiful. Wonderful Haiku about one of my all time favorite trees the Weeping Willow. It's so beautiful and always majestic looking I wonder why it's said to be weeping. Could only imagine that the way the leaves cascade down may remind someone of tears. Anyway loved this. Great pics.

Hi Lilleyth, I hope you enjoy making some bent willow furniture, I would love to give that a go!

I had no idea it is so easy to root a willow, that's something else for me to try - thank you for sharing with us!

    • Lilleyth profile image

Beautiful haiku and, of course, the photos. I love, love, love willows and recently purchased a book on how to make bent willow furniture. You literally only have to cut a branch and stick it in the ground to root another willow tree. So Movie Master, take a cutting from any willow -- any length -- it will root --push about 6 inches into the spot where you want it -- and make one your own! Easy peasy.
