Welcome Home, Muse!
It has seemed to me,
Long years agree,
My Muse had gone astray.
Inspiring rhyme,
My love sublime,
Had wandered far away.
At a loss,
As a ship, wind-tossed,
My pen, it yearned to write.
But the words were gone, and
My pen yearned on
For my Muse had taken flight.
As it is clear
To a writer dear,
A Muse-less heart is hollow.
My heart was sad
And my pen was mad
But the words refused to follow.
Though many things
Inspiration brings,
My pen was poised but dormant.
My heart would burn
For the tides to turn,
But my brain was locked in torment!
But then, one day,
In a hapless way,
I met a fellow poet.
Upon reading his work
I began to smirk
And my Muse returned to show it!
I've alot to say
And a debt to pay
For the smirky inspiration...
The Muse I lacked
Is no longer sacked,
Now it's on to publication!
