Welcome To The Funny Farm

Updated on February 10, 2015

Come One Come All

It's like the biggest side show attraction

People from all over the world meet

To talk about their day

It is a place of work and I kid you not

You will work

Some for less pay than others

More problems than a stray dog has fleas

This is a break room chat

Where all the employees get together and gripe

They come from different branches all over the world

The conversation goes on for hours

What's wrong with the system

How mean our bosses are

Why some of our coworkers shouldn't come to work

Not now

Not ever

Each boss and coworkers all have nicknames

Some of them you might know

Mr. Mean ,Ms. Grumpy, Mr. Big, Mrs. Untouchable , Mr. Angry Man

These are just a few of the bosses

Then there are the employees

Sad , Johny Do Nothing, Odd Ball, Off the Wall, Crazy and Super Lazy

There are more

I just want to welcome you to all your gripes and problems

I first want to thank you for coming in

The weather wasn't the best

A snowstorm where the roads are dangerous

You will get paid no more and if gets slow we send you home

So you get paid less

What happens here stays here

Like wonderful Las Vegas

On the bright side

The owner pays for our vacation

A three week trip

All expenses paid

Hotel and airfare

He throws in three thousand dollars for spending money

To take in a good show

Spend a nice afternoon with the family

A little fun time at gambling

It is your choice

Live it up

Then hurry on back

You have a pile of work waiting for you

They give us the same trip every year

I have never seen an employee complain

After al these years not one person saying

No thanks this isn't for me

You can keep the money

There are part timers

Full timers who have worked there for years

Seniority and respect is a thing of the past

Well like I said boy it's some company

They just had an anniversary

One hundred years in business

They blew up some balloons

As usual did nothing for the customers or the employees

Isn't having a job good enough

The customers have been loyal for many years

Since the Funny Farm consists of a combination of so many jobs

All under one roof

From doctors to lawyers

Tradesmen to local shop owners

Politicians to bartenders

It's like an insurance plan

We are all under one big umbrella

We all signed our name on the dotted line

Maybe yesterday or years ago

All in this together

If you are over worked and under paid you have come to the right place

Not heard even though they ask for suggestions

You know they really don't mean it

For me I am a new employee

I am not sure how things work

My coworkers all seem to smile at once

They laughed so loud my desk shook

They said you will learn the ropes

Soon enough

What you can't do

Shouldn't do

Then what everyone does

They were so happy to see me on my first day

Greeting me with big smiles and real hugs

Shaking hands and introducing me to everyone like one big happy family

One coworker asked at the end of my first day

So what do you think ?

I said seems like a great place to work

Then I seen her eyes roll

Her eye brows rise

Something out of a kids cartoon

You would think I was crazy if I told you thought I seen real smoke coming from her ears

I am so glad for you

Welcome to a place like no other

Don't forget to get some rest tonight

Tomorrow is another day

You will need to save all your energy

What for I asked ?

Curious and puzzled

Enough for one day

You will just have to wait and see

Let's just say

Every day from here on out

Will blow your mind

Some people have a fun time

Other people can't wait to leave

In the end they all come back

I am sorry I forgot your name ?

My name is Young Cub

Before I left I said I am not good at names

What was yours again

Tory Wrong

I'm so glad to be retired and out of the rat race. Now I work at what I love. I never pursued a career as a writer or actress (my interests as a youth). Now I'm a writer blogger, public speaker, poet, and background actor. We don't lose our dreams, merely set them aside for a while.
