Wìdjigò

I did not know

You were the one

Echo from the past

My dream has come

One restless night

At sweet sixteen

While passing through

Cursed town of Abilene

Beneath a moon

So full and bright

You stalk my shadow

Throughout the night

I sense you there

Behind my gait

Stealth, you follow

Your prize doth wait

Half the man

More the wolf

Eternal hunter

One so aloof

Clouds do blanket

Beneath the moon

Darkness prevails

Seek refuge soon

In the distance

I spy a boulder

I run and hide

By road's shoulder

Take a breath

Release ever slowly

Relieved, I am

Outwit, the unholy

So sure, I am

You pass on by

Without knowing

Where am I

There's just one thing

I did not know

How cunning you are

My lycanthrope foe

Darkness fades

Moon cast its power

Above me you smile

I shudder then cower

This is the end

I know my fate

Wìdjigò you howl

You found your mate

    You made me smile ...

As far as the Wendigo is concerned, he really was a bad guy in my dream, but of course being a romantic at heart I had to change the story to suit myself :)

    Thank you

And, why wouldn't he smile and choose you as his mate...you have a beautiful heart and a face to match. I know 100,000,000 men, right now, that would love to change places with him in a heartbeat.

It seems to me that Mr. Wendigo has excellent taste in women and must be congratulated on such a fine catch! :0)

Best wishes and be well - C.J. Sledgehammer

P.S. A very fine poem, Ziyena, voted up an awesome.
