What Else Can I Say Just Another Good Day

Updated on November 18, 2011

My Dreams Have Been Answered

I am more than happy to report a day without any struggle

A funny day that had twists and turns but no sudden stops

My emotions where flying higher and higher at each moment that passed

I have renewed my faith in God and Love and Happiness

Family and friends that I treasure so much have touched my heart in simple ways

I never expected or have experienced it for a long time

I take a moment to reflect on much more than a number of hours listed on a sheet

For I live for these times that give my mind time to unwind

I am home again after driving about two hundred miles and seeing many sights that pleased my eyes

Ending with a moon that looked like an orange slice smiling back at me

The weather might of been rainy but I took out an umbrella that I seldom use and put it to good use

I revisited the home of the remains of a loved one out of sight but never out of mind

Feeling kind and generious and somewhat ashamed

That I can live my life and find many things wrong but never put my life on the line for the country where I belong

It is early and in the morning and another day is under way

But before yesterday is finally forgotten

I wanted to say a few more things

Helped by a friend to see my mistakes and my strengths

I have talked to my two brothers who live miles apart

Hugged my nephew and was fed by my sister in law

Listened to my mom reminisce about her childhood

Shook hands with my best man

Ate a brownie cooked by my wife

Gave a stranger named Frank a ride who was down on his luck when he missed the bus

In the end I feel so special to say this was my day

Dim Flaxenwick I am like a reporter. You do all the work all I have to do is cover the story. Each day your happy. I just want to tell everyone in the world about it.Claptona I think we have all had are share of days that just never make the cut.It is so good to see those times that leave a lasting impression even if it is just for having love for the day that we live.Eiddwen You keep making my day better.Dim Flaxenwick For years I have heard the opposite.I am glad it is not true.I found that some people want to be miserable and are not happy being anything but mad and angry at the world.I am glad your not one of those people.I know life isn't perfect. If each day we can make it better that is good enough for me.My biggest fear is losing you as a hubber. Now that I have told my darkest secret.I am left vunerable and open. With it I will become brave and strong. It is not working...It will take some time.femmeflashpoint Beaming what a great word. Do you mind if I borrow that word for awhile.I like the sound of it.I think I will sprinkle some sugar on it and eat it.It sounds like a delicious snack.I am happy I can share with you my many thoughts and my life that is far from extraordinary except in my own mind.I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful day!

D.O. - this is outstanding. It really is! I felt so GOOD while I was reading it and halfway through, I was BEAMING, lol!

I loved so many things about it, like putting the umbrella to good use, the visit to the home of your friends remains, listening to your mama's stories, the brownie baked by your wife, shaking your best man's hand, hugging your nephew, the orange slice of the moon, talking with your brothers .... goodness!

Please do another one! (Still beaming!!)

This is so beautiful. l really love your work, Dream On.

¨the sun going down like a slice of orange smiling at you´ is so typical of the beauty you see everywhere, even when you´re exhausted.

A simple day filled with things that may go unnoticed but you took the time to reflect and draw from them. That is a beautiful thing.

      Thank you,
