What I Needed

Updated on May 10, 2012

You were there for me

when I needed you most of all.

Just when I thought...

I had hit the wall.

My mind was ready..

to take a great fall

The words would not come

my hands... turned to stone.

my computer was down

like It was hit by a drone.

I needed a lift ...

I needed a tiny spark...

a shot from the starting gun

to get me off my mark.

You opened the door

and there you stood

naked as a Jaybird

and bringing forth the wood

Now the words fly

like an Eagle in the sky

unfettered and bold

looking for some prey to hold.

So hide all you birds

little bunnies and you fish

or you will make a fine dinner

for me on my dish.

Michael I love this. I know the desperate, empty feeling when the words won't come and your naked muse or inspiration was a delightful light in the dark. Great work my friend. perhaps my own muse...not exactly of course, but....nevermind! LOL
