What I Saw - Love Poem
My heart beamed at her sight,
Bewitching was her smile, I saw,
Coyly she espied, To my delight,
From the corner of her eyes, I saw.
She greeted with her hand stretched,
Her skin was soft and white, I saw,
I took her hand in mine and shook,
Her eyes were shining bright, I saw.
I lead her way to my dusty room,
She paused but she didn't mind, I saw,
She asked to sit with a sweet voice,
Her demeanor was that of a bride, I saw.
We lay awake and shared a bed,
She drifted in her own thought, I saw,
I watched her still, with sweat on her brow,
Her lips were quivering a lot, I saw.
I fell asleep with her figure on my mind,
The figure to which I lost my heart,
Then I woke up with a heavy sigh,
From me, She drifted apart, I saw.
