What I Want To Do And Have To Do

How They Are Two Entirely Different Things

I want to reel in nature

As if I was a fisherman with the biggest catch

Watching my line get pulled

So quickly and abruptly without notice

No words needed

I have the big one

I can't believe there is no one here to see

The greatest story ever told and I am alone

The people of the world find the most idiotic things to capture their attention

When something so good happens

They are no where to be found

Such a pity

Life wasted on the foolish

No time left

I plant my feet hard against the ground

I will hold onto my rod as if it was part of my arm

I can neitherseparate nor hold it down

It will move vigorously and take ever ounce of it's strength

The day silently begins for so many

Only a few gifted people will appreciate

These hours that we share

Are the jewels of life

Hidden from the world to see

Because they are so precious

People will use them for the wrong purpose

Not what it is intended for

They will only find selfish reasons and greed

When I know different

The hours of the day

Are gentle as every flower

Being watered in the lovely showers of April

So they can bloom often

People cut and snap them out of their heaven

Only to stick them in a vase

For a few days of savage amusement

Man must never know

How to tap into time

Because he will ruin that too

For he is foolish and unforgiving

If he used his mind and gave it some great thought

He would see

Flowers can bloom for much longer

If they are left alone

Take a picture of the flowers

Then show that picture to whomever

They will appreciate the same beauty

The secret is to capture their smell

Then you have something so much greater

That we can share hundreds of times instead of just once

Bringing life to the living

Keeping alive all that is sacred

Spreading to the rest of the world joys they have never seen

      Terrie Lynn Every day we make choices in our lives to do things that make us happy. We all have to work and that helps fuel our future plans. At the same time it takes away from the time we have now. Our plans can constantly change and we have to decide what is best for us. Thank you for reading and commenting. Gypsy Rose Lee Many people live for the weekend because it is their two days off. I always work weekends and they tend to be the busiest times at work. So it is easy to have mixed feelings. Instead I find things I like about every day and now I can enjoy the weekends just like everyone else. Thank you for sharing. May every day bring you closer to the happiness that we all enjoy. Ms. Dora Every sunshine is replaced by darkness. The summer heat is chased away by the freezing cold. One is not better than the other. Just special in it's own unique way. Thank you for reading and coming along for the ride. Then again you don't have winters in the Caribbean so you have one beautiful day after another. I believe you do have occasional bad storms that come and change things up a bit. Have a relaxing day.
