What Was Once The Present, Has Become The Past

What was once the present, has now become the PAST.
Ten years can seem to be a life time, but the ending has come FAST.
When we spoke our vows, nothing else MATTERED.
Broken hearts, unfulfilled promises, and dreams SHATTERED.
Scattered and tattered all ABOUT.
Confidence and happiness removed, replaced with confusion and DOUBT.
Lovely photos, our walls once ADORNED.
Now those same images have been boxed away and in moments of anger some have been TORN.
I conclude in the depths of both of our hearts, love is still there SOMEWHERE.
It's just the realization of a life together we will no longer SHARE.
What was once the present, has become the PAST.
Farewell, my dear, the memories of our blissful times will forever LAST.

Man of Strength,
I know... it's hard to write about something that may not be personal because many readers assume that it is... you shouldn't have to provide a disclaimer :-)
I just assumed that it was at least somewhat personal, because it was so beautifully written and convincing.
Yes, marriage is 50/50, but I'd like to think the best way to a marriage is when both parties try to give 100%... am I right? Imagine that... well, I loved him half the day today... now it's his turn, haha; of course, I'm just being playful!
I'm looking forward to getting to some more of those hubs of yours!

Man of Strength,
I love this... I think it's something we can all relate to on some level at some point in our lives. I hope you live up to that name of yours and find strength through the ugliness that is sometimes love.
Up and Beautiful

Beautiful very heartfelt and tragic, yet so compassionate for what was lost and remembered. Peace in your stages
