What is It to be Human? (Poem)

Updated on January 24, 2017
To touch is to feel. To feel is to touch.

I am blind

Yet, I see you

And, I feel you in kind

I know you are to me, blind

I come with a dream of a kind

To create and procreate a breakthrough

Magic at the hands of the performer’s eyes blind

Yet, inner peace soars within you

What lies beyond the hunger of my horizon?

Who am I before I became you?

Can speaking my truth grow you a shining island?

Colour me with words and pictures of the horizon

Tell me a story merging truth with a pleasure island

See if you can heal my heart brand new

Cool breeze of sight, and, soul from the horizon

Tingling my spine in readiness of you

The hunger of my horizon. Can I grow Into you?

Pumping heat and lungs with ease

Love and intellect soothes

Coddling people, animals and nature in degrees

Solution for insensitivity in blaming others with ease

Searing sensitivities with personal responsibility in degrees

Yearns to open the doors, not have them eluded or denuded

Mounds of sea salt built with ease

Prospers one, and, souls soothe

Optimism, with a come and go, perspective

People intrude, prod and pry

Controlling and suffocating my respective

Power struggles ensue with one’s perspectives

Trembling lip speaks angst of one’s respective

My dreams of the night spied upon slyly

Unsaid security rises in perspective

Justice and fairmindedness are on standby

Prosperous times of sea salt

Let’s go out and play

I’ll make you feel alright

I am like the juicy pulp of a sun-kissed orange in sway

Could be addicted to more play

Sensuous feast felt between my toes that wiggle and sway

Shoots of excitement head to heaven’s door height

Let’s go out and play

I’ll make you feel alright

Yesterday, is now my motto

Adventures of the mind, food and travel

Cherry lips that speak rosy warmth vibrato

The I, is vigorous and circulating in motto

No hidden agendas within the vibrato

Yet, I can now be unforgiving as I unravel

An immovable mountain may now be my motto

Or, can I run by foot, to travel?

Thank You for Reading My Poem

Threekeys---Poetry boils down to nothing if we can't read between the lines---and you make it so possible with the touch of your ever drifting soul.

Hi, Jo im happy you enjoyed my poem. Your words are kind and generous.

I never know whether to write poetry or not. But I know I feel at home writing poems.

Whether writing poems will last? I don"t know. But thank you Jo.
