What is Left Unsaid

Updated on May 22, 2012

A look...

seen of demons in our minds...

inner succubi to play...

Eros our patron saint...

yet wear we white and go to our maker...

bow to him while contemplating our horns...

seeing neighbor dredged in trouble...

finding wounds to make that much deeper...

feeling lingerie needing use...

caressing curves or contemplating mistresses our wife in ignorance bliss...

but all is played in our mind and reality not reflecting...

what our other fellows know...

kept behind a veil expecting...

One day naked to the bone with Dorian's paintings for ourselves...

things we kept without receipt piled, shackled to our feet...

ignorant are we, perhaps by cause...

forcefully blind we walk along and tell the other all is right...

nothing wrong to worry sleep nor change the pleasures of our waking dreams...

Tell we God, you are not there nor see...

life too horrid for our taste...

yet add we flavor of our own...

with things we truly cannot face...

What shall any say of this and stand and tell me what I write...

words slicing at their thoughts and bearing all that lay within...

Can you face yourself with all...

knowing I keep back a few...

I but shield you from my hell...

yours will do for you...

Concealing all this day and perhaps I do the nobler thing...

When you face you, and I face all...

Perhaps it is true what they say of...

a man in control of self is mightier then a king....

Tell me you have virgin lips and fingers that no foul hath touched...

tell me your sad story that God forbid could not exist ere take apart...

I have had enough and that is real,,,

You think I'm foolish for this thing that lays bear my disgust...

do you well to talk of pain? Then forget this thing...

tomorrows news....

This work in pros...

a thing of naught...

Yours to change or stay the same...

So Choose.

Well once again...Wow! This is a very powerful, but dark Poem...Being in control is so important to our sanity in this world of ours...Your mind for writing is flowing, like an Artist...you paint your own picture...It's also great therapy...thanks for sharing.

@Doug, I wouldn't know if this view point or subject has been done this way before? It rolled off my fingers and in to a hub smoothly and with the fevered reality that I couldn't not write it.

@Micky I am glad you liked it and was able to roll with it. Three cheers for Micky.

I rolled with it like rhyme on top of Jaggedfrost! God bless the Jaggedfrost!

Strange point-of-view here. I'm not sure I've seen it done before; sort a past tense omniscient viewpoint that feels more personal than usual. "A man in control of self is mightier than a king." Good saying and good line. Keep up the good work.
