What to wear for Halloween

Updated on October 16, 2015

Pagan Poetry is a specialty of mine - I have a website called TheGypsyThread with more of my work.

The clock is ticking,

Tick, Tick, Tick,

The hours slipping

Slip, Slip, Slip

Howling winds

Stormy Skies

The night goes bump

Glowing eyes

Again the day

Upon us soon

When evil things

Howl at the moon

Zombie trance

Vampires blood

Insane rants

Creature mud

Foolish mortals

Roam the night

Open portals

Spooky fright

But wait you cry

I cannot see

I cannot fly

What should I be

A costume to wear

Two weeks from now

Maybe a bear

Maybe an owl

Pirate, gypsy, tramp or thief

Alien, cowboy, Smurf, or Chief

With slings and arrows, crosses and guns

Let’s all dress up in the name of FUN!

Fun little ditty....I remember as a child the anticipation of the Halloween festivities sponsored by our tiny country school...and dressing up in homemade costumes was the commercially prepared ones within a hundred miles so we learned early on to create.

    Well done...shared

Angels are on the way to you this evening ps

Very cute poem. I'm really struggling with what to dress my son as this year. I usually buy a costume, but he's not much on trick or treating, so basically it's just to wear on dress up day at school. I would like to come up with something home made this year.

    Happy Halloween! :)
