What Happened (poem)

Updated on May 31, 2017

Again she combs the night of hope to find

A moment that was somewhere skipped in time

Was when reality replaced sublime

And world around her turned a bit less kind

-

Atop success’ mountain she did climb

Lost trails of fans’ loud clamoring behind

Into this person’s lifestyle now resigned

So far from home she couldn’t see her crime

-

Her children didn’t know her anymore

They sat with dad as she put on her show

-

And everything was older than before

Twas at that moment gloom replaced the glow

-

Her mind now trapped in life’s revolving door

Her kids said mom it’s time for us to go

You write from the heart. It has been a while since I heard from you.

      A most poignant piece.
