When A Friend Turns Cold

Updated on May 2, 2013

Unbelievable But True

One day we met and from that time on

We have called on occasion and got together when we could

Each living our seperate lives and sharing our troubles

Always wanting the other to do well

From college to break ups

To moving and changing jobs

A quarter of a century later

One day I called and you said I can't talk now

Then I called again one week later

I have to go bye bye

You made it clear you do not want to hear from me

Wondering what has happened ?

For this sudden change in attitude

Nothing different the last time we talked

I realize some friendships last forever

Some friendships are great and have a good run

We can always love what we had and remember those good times

Moving on

It is better than hanging on to something that is long gone

Dim Flaxenwick When I come on the computer I feel like your my next door neighbor.Tea time for me is when you are talking.I am so glad you love tea and don't mind sharing a few stories with someone who soaks up whatever you say with an oatmeal cookie.I love having fun and I am pleased you keep coming day after day.You give me smiles when I go to work and energy for one more day.Neil Rose I love stories with a happy ending so I hope this isn't the end.Making friends is something I will always cherish.I have so much to learn and two wonderful ears to listen.Life can't get any better than that.travmaj Some people just want to keep us on our toes I guess.Loving life because I can.Let people drive other people nuts.I just love to share time with friends who care.Thanx everyone for your wonderful comments and suggestions.Life is a mystery I will just have to keep reading.(lol)

I like your take on this. It happens and you wonder - and probably never discover the reason behind the coolness..

In saying this I have a very good friend who never, ever contacts me - I have to ring her. That's the way it is and always will be. She's always happy when we connect. Weird world.

What a silly person your ex friend must be. I had a similar experience a few years ago and still don t know what l ve done wrong. I would love to live in the same country to get to know someone as amazing as you. You have the right attitude though. It s the other persons loss.

Voted up. You are so right if it's meant to be it will be. I contacted with my best friend from high school and we were so glad to find each other and now we keep in close touch with each other through email. She and I are having such fun reconnecting.

It happens and quite often too. If someone has proven that they don't want anything to do with me, then see ya and walk away! they are no better or worse than you. I have a friend who is just like that. It's always me who never calls or who is the stranger, well the phone works both way and I always make plans to hang out and yet when the day comes, she always cancels at the last minute.

DREAM ON....perhaps your friend is dealing with personal issues that they don't want to relinquish to your at this time...if they are a true friend they will eventually relate back to you...but never question them, they or may not ever share...just move forward if they do reconnect...trust me I have been there on both ends....enjoy the week-end....as always...

It's always painful to lose a friendship but it's better to let go. Some people are more superficial than other unfortunately.

      Enjoy the nice weather!

Mhatter99 Instead of worrying I am going to leave it alone and let it be one more great mystery in life I just can't figure out.I will spend my time with friends who want to talk and I will enjoy once again the give and take.Life is made of people who are fickled, irrational and unpredictable at best.Maybe they would be better of letting go of their problems than settling for less.Thanx for reading and I feel much better getting this off my chest.Have a day filled with pleasure and fun.
