When Can I Love Without the Ache?

When can I love without the ache?

It would be easy to just forget

Erase the past, let it go forever

Forget the time and effort spent

Yeah, it's easier that way

The I don't have to live with pain

But I believe in love

Strong and true and unconditional

The kind that can only come from God

And with that love I can't forget

Even though I sometimes wish I could

I only want the best for you

So I continue to think of you

And daily I keep praying for you

Because where I may have failed

God most certainly will not

He'll give you love, he'll give you peace

Oh, how I pray you find it

And when you do, I hope you see

That I am still here where I will always be

Still someone who cares for you

Now I wait alone here and hope

That somehow my prayers will help

You know I Iong to make a difference

To be a friend by power of prayer

But why does it have to come with a price?

When can I love without the ache?

      shanmarie,

Oh my goodness girl, where have you been hiding? This is so beautiful and I can relate. Love is the only feeling that can bring us the most pleasure and the most pain and you captured that so beautifully.

To love and lost... some say is better than to never have loved at all; that is debatable isn't it?

You know what I've noticed about a lot of people? They pray for themselves. "Please God, let me get this job", Please God, let my team win the Superbowl", "Please God, let me win the lottery". True, unselfish love is to pray for someone else. You are a beautiful soul my dear!

      Up, awesome and beautiful

What a nice thing to say, Cat! I'm humbled. Thanks for stopping by. I'll be sure to read more of your work as well.

It's beautiful... I don't know how it's gone unnoticed, but sadly, some of the best do... I'm pinning it (meant to earlier).

Thanks! I think a lot of mine has just sort of sat there. They were posted before I really started interacting with other hubbers, and many of them just recently, though I've been a member for three years. I'm discovering wonderful people like yourself and becoming quite addicted to it!

      shanmarie,

Well, we'll just have to spread them around won't we... they don't know what they're missing :-). You know though, I bet you're right... if you've been a little undercover, I'm sure your hubs were too! I'm going to start plucking away at them and I will be sharing :-)

Thank you... I can always recognize a geniune person when I see one :-)

OH, me. Oh, my. Let me correct myself and say "a lot of mine HAVE just sort of sat there." Hahaha

      shanmarie,

First... you don't have to say anything else :-)

Second... truth be told; I read it the right way the first time. I actually had to scroll up to see your typo. But between you and me, I can't stand when I notice my own typo after the fact either. It is kind of funny :-)

Haha...maybe if HP made it easier to correct a typo (if you can call it a typo and not just a lapse in grammatical understanding. hehe) after the fact. . .

      shanmarie,

Yeah... I noticed a long time ago that you can only edit your comment for five minutes and after that the only other option is deleting it... I think they ought to reconsider that one! :-) eh, typo, shmypo, grammatical error... whatever it was :-) I honestly just read it normally... I think it's kind of funny that I only noticed it after you corrected yourself :-)

The mind is an amazing thing. I often read my own work the way it is meant to be and others' work as well. But, when I do notice after my 5 min. limit, I am bugged by it! Haha. Oh well, certainly not my first mistake on HP and likely not my last!

Beautiful. I can understand firsthand where you were when you wrote this. I've been there as well. Not easy to do in the flesh, but in the spirit we have the understanding that our Lord is always with us and gives comfort through His love and peace, always carrying us through.

      God bless you.

Yes. . .that was years ago. But, there are still occasional times when the feeling comes around. It's not easy, but I have to believe worth it to continue caring anyway.
