When Dreams And Real Life Collide

Updated on September 15, 2015

Make The Best Of It

Each moment is not lost

It is slowly changing

The world is not to your liking

Don't give up

So your day didn't go well

Don't worry there is always tomorrow

Your vision needs time

To mature like an apple

The apple grows all summer

We are not sure how the apple will turn out

We water and fertilize as needed

The weather plays a big part

It is beyond our control

If we get too much rain and not enough sun

The apples may not grow well

If the weather turns too cold

We could have frost and that would kill the whole crop

You have to spray the apples with insecticides

To prevent against disease and bugs

Even after all this

The little pests can still find a way

To borrow deep under the skin

To ruin your beautiful apple

So every season many apples try to be perfect

But only a few succeed

Some apples fall during bad weather

Other apples don't always grow to their full potential

Every year there are many who make it

So it's to soon to tell

We just have to let time run it's course

A little good luck won"t hurt

Lets just grow and see how far we get

In September and October

We will know soon enough

Are you a good apple or just drops ?

In the hot summer sun yellow jackets in swarms trying to eat the pears before we can get to them Several years ago picking up pears one bit me right in the palm of my hand. If that ever happens to you best thing is to cut an onion in half and rub it on the spot. Quickly takes away the swelling.

Gypsy Rose Lee Do you get a lot of yellow jackets flying around attracted to the pears ? My brother had a pear tree and all the nicest pears grew at the top of the tree where we couldn't reach them. We use to have a long pole with a grabber at the end. You would try to scoop the pear and many times you would knock other pears down also. Lots of fun.Thank you for reading and sharing.

Our pears are green. They are delicious but never grow uniformly. Some are small and some are a nice medium size.

We had very few apples on our trees this year. We had a lot of pears as usual though.

Jodah I love that line. You continue to fascinate me. Some people have an uncanny ability to seize up a moment and capture it in words and film. What an amazing gift you have and to see you use it so well in your hubs and in your comments. Thank you so much.
