When Is a Child a Child? (Poetry by GalaxyRat)

Updated on July 9, 2017

GalaxyRat is fond of rats and writing. And dark poetry. She knows that people don't like all these things together... but who cares?

When is a child really a child?

Is it when conception happens, or when they are born?

Abortion

Just causes a family to mourn

For a child who is just "in the fish stage of evolution"*

and is not really human.

For such a disregard for human life

For the issue when a child is really a child is a fight

Done in order to save their morality.

*If you've not heard this, there was a theory that babies go through different animal stages during pregnancy (fish embryo, cow embryo, monkey, and some hundred after that is human).

That's my way of thinking as well, John. I believe from the moment of conception a kid is a kid, and they are as human as you or me. Thanks for reading.

It's all crazy that they still consider a baby not a child until so late in the pregnancy. To me, they are a human from the time of conception.
