When Models Collide

Updated on August 11, 2017

You’ve got your magazine that claims to speak the truth

What this society wants you to be

A sixty year old body trying to look like the youth

You let them cut and break to make a better you

The addiction becomes viral

As you change every aging factor to be someone new

With your faces of plastic

You think you look so fantastic

But you’re an emotional static

Who fears you’ll be a wasted status

You seek to claim that Hollywood status of fame

Not convincing a single soul

They will soon forget your name

You want to be a model because you think it’s great

You want them to see beauty

But all they see is someone from head to toe who is fake

With your faces of plastic

You think you look so fantastic

But you’re emotional static

Who fears you’ll be a wasted status

When it’s all over and you are looking back

Deep in debt, and scars full of pain

You realize that you have fallen off the track

See what the world considers beauty is merely a fading scene

Yet you committed yourself too

Changing what God created to hopefully make what you’ve seen

With your faces of plastic

You think you look so fantastic

But you’re emotional static

Who fears you’ll be a wasted status

Your face shows no emotion behind a wall of plastic

Your face showing only one feature

You can’t stretch the skin like elastic

Guess you can really say “you’re a real life Barbie”

With plastic features but no Ken

You are shallow and no one feels sorry

it is what is on the inside that counts. looks will fade, but personality will live on. thanks for the comment Rosemary.

Very well written and so true

It's what is on the inside that counts. I prefer people to like me for who I am. not some patched up fake

Women and men of substance are not that easy to find. Excellently penned verse. Thanks

I really liked this. Very well written, and so very true. I don't get what the fascination is with fake women these days. I'd much rather a real woman than some plastic Barbie doll. Most models are nothing more than sex novelty dolls with a heartbeat. Gross. Voted Awesome and up.
