When My Head Is Pounding

Updated on February 13, 2011

Unnecessary Frustration Some People Keep

We have all been there

Some more often than most

Other people block it out of their mind completely

A thought that would make mice shreeeek

All those little aggrivating things that add up over time

The pain in the butts that don't go away

If we only had tidy bowl to wash all our disappointments down the drain

How perfect would that be a brain cleaner that keeps on working after we go to sleep

Finding every thought that holds us back from our true potential

One that limits us to every negative thought

Stops us dead in our tracks

With a little effort it would be a clean sweep

We would not have to shed a tear or weap

No yelling or screaming

Not one careless thought

Not one mean desire to be noticed

Not even an attempt to get even when something bad has happened to us

We just move on like a new day has just started

We are not totally feeling excited but are on the right track

Making sure no weeds hold us back

Get the old sicle out and chop them from under

Never to be seen from again

Dust to dust

Ashes to ashes

What useless information to hold onto

When all we have to send it away on a one way ticket out of here

We have come along way from the andethol that was many generations ago

But until we learn to master our emotions

We will be quickly knocked down to size

Loosing sight of the apple in our dreams

Letting our problems shrink instead of piling up

How do we trace what we don't know

By giving the bad a shove in the right direction

Thinking positive again and let all other thoughts develop star power

Learning never to go back to the sad state of depression

That caused so much pain

We could never put our finger on

Gone for good

For once and for all I say good bye and good rediance

      Dear Dream On,

It appears to me that not only has your wall concept worked, you have outgrown it. It served its purpose. You are a much more positive person.

And I completely agree with you, that putting others down or belittling them is no way to conduct a life. It hurts the insulter as much as the insulted. So saying nice things or no things about others is the route to go. It makes us better people.

We make mistakes and we learn and we help one another. That makes for more smiles, and lighter hearts!

      Pleased to be your friend!

Poetvix I feel we hold onto too many hurtful feelings that do nothing but harm us time and time again. Many feelings we carry all our lives and never shake free of.Pixienot I think growth can be appreciated more from doing things that we love and improving on them so we can check our progress. Then to see our gains and how it has changed our lives for the better. It is a great learning experience.A win win situation. When people purposely use negative insults and cause pain and trama by just putting down people I don't see that as a neccessary growth experience.I see that as unfortunate and it sometimes takes a strong person years to overcome obstacles they had no control over. The wall idea works but what did I learned from those negative experiences that I couldn't of learned from positive changes and reflection of trying to impove my life for the better from the start.I would love to further disguss your opinion and look deeper into the events that lead up to now.I love all your input and suggestions that keep me understanding life better.I do agree that some problems take time and more understanding than we have at present. So through trial and error results can be found.Have a great day.

      Dream On,

Here is where I disagree with you. There cannot be quick and easy answers to our woes and struggles. How else are we to build character and be able to measure our growth?

I know I do things much differently today than I would have twenty or even ten years ago. I think that is a good thing.

Perhaps a good way to put things in perspective is to make a growth chart. Put on that chart the things that are driving you mad (like you do your wall) and when you find that special way of handling them, cross them off. On a down day, get out your chart and celebrate!

Great hub. Voted up and awesome.

Kirutaye I just write each problem on an index card and stick them on a wall.I throw darts at them since I can't tackle them yet but I get my frustrations out and fill my problems with little holes so they don't look so big and scarey any more.I will take one at a time and someday that wall will be empty. Then I am going to paint it with a picture of something nice.I have time to think about it.Any ideas? Thanks for your comments.

Letting go of the garbage that clutters our minds and our spirits is probably the best thing we can do for ourselves...and probably one of the most difficult! Great hub with a wonderfully inspirational message!

Darlene Sabella I am always looking for secrets that people know how to make life better. Some things should be so obvious but there are not.As I learn from everyone I keep adjusting my strategies accordingly.I love ideas. How can I help you?Give me a minute while I put my best suit on to dress for the occasion.Leni Sands If we can learn from our struggles and pass the knowledge on to the ones we love then there was a purpose. If we let our disappointments and problems get the best of us then

we have lossed our way.We need to do something that will bring out our best potential. We are capable of and can achieve if we believe. Thanks everyone for sharing.

I agree, so true! Your writing is so deep and seems to express my own true feelings. I have had a few disappointments in my life - too many in the last week - people I thought I could trust and now find that my trust was misplaced. I try year upon year to fight the depression that stole my mothers life and still endeavors to do so. It's hard to fight depression and disappointment when everywhere you turn you are let down. So I file it all away in my head till what my grandmother always called a 'rainy day' - sometimes the pain in my head rears up to remind me and I knock it back down again. A toilet flush would be great idea to take away the frustrations of life. Beautifully written!
