When My Hub Is A Sleep And I So Desperately Try To Wake

Updated on November 29, 2011

Wake Up Sleepy Head

I look at a white screen and want to scream

How can I bring this hub into existence ?

I know, close my eyes and think

Like I have done so many times before

Let my thoughts rattle my brain until they just jiggle their way out

I know your in there ?

You have nothing to fear ?

Let one word come first

Then the rest is sure to follow

It is like follow the leader and every word gets a turn

You get to say what you want and speak your mind

My only rule is make it pleasantly fine

I scratch my head and think

I feel as crafty as a fox and or maybe a mink

I want to come out with something different

A unique approach that will grab the reader by the throat

No too much power

I will tone it down a bit

I want to make the reader leap like a frog in heat

Jumping up and down for everyone to watch

Like a flea without the itch that would be a switch

I would like to add a little rythm or maybe a tempo instead

Something upbeat like dum dum dum

No that won't work

How about humming like a humming bird

What do you mean they don't make a sound ?

They do fly real quick and have gravity mastered

In an instant they are here and another second they are long gone

Where do they come from ?

I don't know

I only see them around the hummingbird feeder hence where the name comes from

I am back to square one

That's not bad since I started with a circle about an hour ago

Who said you can't put a square peg in a round circle ?

I do it in my head all the time

Does it make it right

Of course not

We are making progress and I am a little bit silly but somewhere in here there has to be a little common sense

One that we can gain knowledge from and to use one tidbit of information

I would be real happy

So let's focus and make this hub stick

Like the last pancakes that I forgot to flip

No thats not any good either

I will try to erase those bad thoughts and keep the good thoughts pulsating in my head

Too much noise it's just getting me dizzy instead

Let's move on to a new point and keep making ground

I smell cinnamon

I thought I put the cover on tight

Nope now that is hindsight for you

What a mess I have before me

How do I make it right

Get a couple of eggs out of the refridgerator and add some milk

A little salt and pepper and add a pepper

Not the same pepper as before silly

(the green one of course) and a little onion

No the red one instead it tastes better and looks colorful

Two red peppers and make it the purple onion for more flavor

Sometimes I get ahead of myself

Looks like an omlette brewing

Oh don't forget the cheese

Where was I ?

I thought I was on the cooking channel for a second

Back to the computer and shut off that darn T.V.

How do you shut off something that was never turned on to begin with

So you guessed it a little fun and a lot of imagination

Where does it get you ?

One crazy hub that has plenty of room for improvement

One that has laughs splitting out of it sides

A little slippery when wet

A bag full of apples and maybe an apple pie later

It is so much easier to stop at Mcdonalds and say 4 hot apple pies please and you can add your own ice cream after

More than four and your feeding the neighbors for sure

I like to let my imagination go

Sometimes it goes faster than I can think

Or at times I get tongue tied and red

Oh yes my wife is yelling for me once again

Shut off that computer and come to bed

This poem is very inspiring for most hubbers who often feel this way (me included) so thank you =)

There can be many distractions and unfounded fears surrounding the writing practice. I often go through the typical worries of if the hub might not be good enough, or if it's worded right, or interesting enough... but we have to let those worries go or else nothing will ever get written!

Thoughts can be tiring when there are too many or not enough, but you captured something special here. Keep writing!

K.Burns Darling Maybe we will find a way together to hold onto those thoughts and tame them like a wild horse and soon be in control.Only practice and time will tell.Thank you so much.

You so captured the way that I feel sometimes, when the thoughts are there, but they just can't seem to translate from my brain to the computer, or when I start with one idea and then completely run amuck...good to know that I'm not alone!

Carrie450 I go to bed and sleep on it.Then I forget the ideas I had and come up with new ones.OOOPS I am not helping am I.Well sometimes I wake up in the middle of my sleep and The idea will get me running to the bathroom.O.k. o.k. enough joking around this is serious stuff. No I cna't think now too much pressure.Just relax and write all your ideas down even if it's only a line. Then if not now maybe someday soon the inspiration will hit and it will all come together. But what ever you do don't hit delete. That's another story.Good luck and keep those hubs rolling.I helped you along a little bit.I told everyone on the Hub Pages Carrie450 was going to do 11 hub stories tonight.Good luck and I can't wait to read them tomorrow.(lol)

Jason Nichols I can't tell you in words what it means to me that you liked and understood my hub.But I can always try :-)(-: Life will always amaze me and I just try to express one more thought I think.I can't wait to read your new hub and after that one keep going your on a roll.Don't stop now you have inspired yourself and many hubbers like me will be following you and be taking notes and learning how to write a better hub with a lot more bubbles than any good bubble bath can have.Thank you so much.
