When Rain Brings Us Closer, a Poem

Updated on November 20, 2012
Source

Gone were the days we stayed out in the rain

Counting drops one by one, dazzled with silliness

Getting wet or not was not the moment’s riddle

Spray and lightning turned us into devious beings.

Source

I watched as water dripped down your hazel hair

Rolling straight paths to the tip of your nose

Then, there were endless seconds of sprinkles; more

Loving the drenched look on you the most.

Source

You unfastened what was holding me there

Your cold hands felt a strong promise bold against my back

Then with no boundaries, your chest touched my breasts

Mystique of combined emotion, autumn rain so electrifying.

Source

Inside the open-top tent we were two turtles

Continuously, rain streamed passing our barenaked necks

Feeling lucky that we have each other

In the midst of silence, the rain’s song we only hear.

Source

We held skin-to-skin; our silhouettes were fearless images

Kissing, caressing, my dog watching, petrified in awe

Our happiness and joys is knowing "anywhere" is a special place for us

All that we do is pure love; one heart we have made of each other.

Source

We laughed like two fools inlove on a gloomy afternoon

The park was ours to cherish, no one else to claim

Until the gray clouds turned pale and the sun shining

Packed our tent, held hands, kicked apples, foolishly smiling.

Source

So when I ask you if we can do this over another time

Will you pray for rain, an extraordinary day to love again?

Your surprises are like ice cubes, stored to melt for me

Cool days, warm evenings, will you take me soon unexpectedly?

How lovely love is! You capture the giddy heights so well here, glad there is no downside, and hope there never is.

Love is just as you describe it here, just like two children laughing in the rain, but then comes that very intense passion as you have described so beautifully here.

Your images are the best I've seen, and I love how you have written a little after each image and then so on . . . so clever and delightful---love in the rain.

I pray you have many more days such as this one here, seemingly endless days.

Having you to write here on HubPages is a blessing for all to read, as it is pure, fresh, so very unique and beautiful.

I give thanks to your sheer talent as a writer. Have a lovely Thanksgiving.

      Voted way up and sharing

God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Good day, billybuc! It is foggy out here today and I'm heading to work soon. I'm glad to see you. I have a lot of catching up to do to visit fellow hubbers' hubs and you too. A new job has gotten me a bit away from my readings lately...

Thank you for putting a ray of sunshine to my morning. Lot of hugs! ~coffee

I hope there never will be a downside, xstatic. It is a beautiful feeling reminiscing of all the cherished memories one after the other, but to repeat could never bring out exactly the same thing; it will always be a new surprise, a new moment to cherish all over again.

Thank you for your visit. May your day be swell, xstatic. It is a fog morning at 5 degrees C here, but I will be spending my 8 hours indoors at work soon. I'm missing my visits to my friendly-hubbers.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and family, dear Faith! I have almost forgotten about this. I wish all my fellow hubbers in the U.S. the same bountiful gatherings with their loved ones (families, relatives and friends) and may the joy of this special holiday bring all thoughts of gratitude back to HIM, with sparing kind hearts and deeds to those who need nourishment on this celebrated day.

I thank you, Faith Reaper for stopping by to read this poem hub and the wishes you have wished me well for my love life of endless days such as this...enjoying sweet love in the rain. See the smile on my face? It is really wide! I'm grinning like a fool. :) I love you.

For someone who does not like the rain, you have shown me the beauty and merriment that can be found there. You have so poetically brought out the beauty in the rain.

.....since I do not hear from you any more my divine Lady Tess - all of my days are rainy here ......but I couldn't stay away from a lady who is a world class photographer and writer/poet and how each of her hub presentations are like 'art in a frame' - preferrably on the Hub Louvre wall of fame - sending you warm wishes as always and good energy too - are you rooting for the Argos to win tomorrow's Grey Cup?

How is life in the big city for you and your family and friends?

Tiffy and Gabriel and I are all well here by the lake of Erie although we received our first snowfall - a light dusting but still scary enough because around these parts they call it lake effect snow - lake erie time 12:58pm

I am so happy Lady Tess for the city of Toronto and for your Argos for winning the Grey Cup - it must have been one heck of a day for everyone there - I hear you have a parade on Tuesday - also on the downside I hear you may be losing your mayor - is that right?

I hope sincerely all is well with you and your family these days -and I am sending you big Canadian hugs from yours truly, Little Miss Tiffy and Mister Gabriel on this Monday morning from lake erie time 12:02pm where we received a substantial snowfall on Sunday and it's still here on the ground making it a white world indeed

Thank you tobusiness. Now, winter is here and it is bitter cold, and I guess rain isn't the only natural condition that brings "love" closer, but the chills too, lol.

I miss the warm rain, really, picklesandrufus. The tropical rain is when I can soak outside the most and feel the showers all over me. High five to you too!

Hahaha, epigramman! I am just around and I miss reading everyone's hubs, especially yours. This new job that I am into, though part-time drains my remaining energy to sit on HubPages whenever I get home. I am trying to catch up and will visit the others soon too. I thought you've been quiet lately, but epigrmman, no, cannot be. He is always up with a new poem to tickle us.

Man, it's too cold for me but I have hibernated for a long year, so I'm glad to be out twice a week right across the street, don't have to travel.

We had light snow almost transparent when I got home one night. I thought I would be greeted with snow on my nose and kicking them on my path. Love the snow but not the chilly winds. Glad you are well with Tiffy and Gabby. It is 10:57 pm and will be retiring in a few minutes. Will be waking up to work day. Thank you for the warm wishes coming my way and good energy too, I'll embrace them all.

Well well well...I was ready to sign out and here is Mr. Epiman, can't let you down, must reply, hahaha!

Argos good for them, but I don't follow them you see. Wow, you are so far and you heard about the parade! Good for you too. I read about the mayor today. I can't comment much about it here, hahah. Let them do what they want to do...for Toronto. *Big smile*

My family is well, thank you very much. Oh, so it is white out there now. Beautiful site for you!
