When Sickness Gives Us Strength

Updated on April 12, 2013

To See Ourselves At Our Weakest Moment

To have little control of our body we know so well

Wondering what if our body doesn't get better ?

If we don't recover ?

What will we do next ?

All we can do is pray

What a difference a day makes

When thankfully the past is behind us

Our spirits have risen and our body has bounced back

Now the last few days of misery are just a distant memory

What have we learned?

To be healthy as we can be

Have gratitude for what we have

Have compassion for those who are not well

Encourage good thoughts and passion back in our lives

Move on with great persistance and fortitude

To make the most of today

Simple as it seems

The truth is right before our eyes

All we have to do is look

When we don't see it

Look again

Keep looking until we find the answer

The answer nobody else can give

Understanding a little more than we knew before

Opens the door

For a great opportunity with unlimited possibilities

Minnetonka Twin Just when I thought it was over I went head over heels feeling sick again.A bad joke turned even worse. So now two weeks later I will say it again.I am done with the flu,the bug, a cold or just pot luck.I am looking forward to just a day where I don't feel grumpy.Praying is on top of my list for just the simplest good feeling knowing anything is better than what I felt.kj force You are tough as nails and it shows in everything you do.Your spirit and drive are great examples of that.We can all learn from you.Determination made the difference.I am so glad you shared your story.GypsyRose Lee Life is so important when you think that you can help one person and make their life better.I absolutely agree.Thanx to all of you who showed me different things and I am always learning and very thankful for all your help.

I pray to the Lord each day for health and strength and as long as I'm able to go on I also try to help others along the way if I can.

DREAM ON...Interesting hub...now I will share a personal experience with you...I have always been a very strong and healthy individual...until one day my life crashed, I lost the ability to walk, due to an auto-immune disorder...it was at this time I realized just who I could count on....ME...

Oh yes people offered, but when push came to shove they were always too busy or it was inconvenient. I saw myself at deaths door many times. However this made me stronger and more determined to move forward and perceiver ...5 years later.. I now walk with the use of walking sticks...WhaHooo !!!! Great job on your hub.....

Hi my friend~looks like you've recuperated from the cold you had. I had that sinus and cold thing too and was miserable. I think your hub is so important to remind of gratitude. Gratitude for all we have, even gratitude for getting rid of a nasty cold. Have a great weekend!

      Hello dream-on.

Correct, " great opportunity with unlimited possibilities ," is ahead of us concerning health when we come to God pleasing him by saying ," I believe you." The words says with faith in His existence , the " door is open" and willingly He gives us all , He gladly does.We remind Him to redemptive work of Jesus," by His stripes, we are healed " . Jesus took upon cross our sins our sickness and all the curse; as promptly we receive salvation by faith, we should have faith for healing also. The most successful way to stay free from any sickness is to speak up daily, " thank you Lord for Divine health and Divine prosperity..." For very long years now, in my case it works, my body is healthy. HalleluYAH !

      Voted interesting.

      Dreamon,

Your message is very timely and motivates us to live our lives fully each and every day. It is often in our deepest trials and sufferings that we come to know our true selves and develop a deep gratitude for those things we take for granted. We develop empathy and compassion for others. Thanks for reminding us of how things might change rom one day to the next,

Having our health is truly one of the most important things in our lives. Without it, our whole dynamic changes. Being grateful for each day is important! Good topic.
