When Small Good Deeds Payoff

Updated on August 10, 2013

A Nice Surprise

Being our own guide

To what makes sense and what is not neccessary

Going with a feeling and so glad we did

Reacting on an impulse

Following an urge

The bottom line is always clear

As soon as the dust disappears

Wanting more out of life

Getting the satisfaction of giving

Then being totally surprised

When you are noticed and mentioned by your peers

Once again you can pat yourself on the back

For going up and beyond

Seeing no limits

What started out as second nature

Was more fun than we could have ever done

Au fait If you start small with little things like holding the door for someone or letting someone in line at the grocery store go first when they only have a few things or if you see their in a hurry. The bigger deeds become automatic like helping a friend out if their moving without them asking you first. Maybe switching your hours at work because they need a day off. You are left with a feeling so great that is better than any reward. Who knows maybe in the future somebody might just help you when you need it the most. Thank you so much for reading and passing along a good deed.

Everyone should do some good deeds everyday, it's a great habit to cultivate, and you're right that it makes a person feel good.

      Hi dream-on.

So pleasant when you follow your heart doing good and your peers recognize it.

Am I repeating myself, by saying " its more blessed to give than to receive?!"- still true.

Voted up and useful. The title is perfect, "When Small Good Deeds Pay Off." My sis and I refer to these occurrences as a "glad surprise."

There is nothing more joyful than giving and being thankful for every minute of life. Then these unexpected blessings just happen!

It is a win-win for both parties...the giver, and the one being given to...then the glad surprise later! Blessings, Sparklea :)
