Racism Poem: When The Police Approaches a Black Man Vs A White Man

Updated on April 28, 2016

Police Approaches A White Man

Good Morning Sir, and how are you doing today?
Have you seen anyone suspicious pass this way?
We received some calls earlier about suspicious people hanging around
That's why we are here to tackle them to the ground
So where are you from do you live around here
Wow, that's great, i also have a story to share
I use to also play quarter back in my days of school
I am glad you are in sports, that's really cool

We gonna have to leave now, if you see anyone suspicious just give us a call
"Well officer, i saw this black guy walking who was really tall"
That must be our suspect, he sounds quite suspicious to me
Black, tall and walking in a white community
i will have him locked up before the day ends i swear
Tall and black huh, thanks you for the information share
Common Bill, we have a suspicious suspect who went that way
He is Black and tall, we have to get him today

These people walk around and sell drugs and rob people all day
I guarantee he will be in jail this very day
Why does he think he can come strolling by in this community, this black man
He is lucky when i don't catch up to him i don't pull a Zimmerman
We are so lucky that guy there helped us out
Have a good day sir, we will see you around.

"Guy jumps off the wall and tucks his gun in his waist

And bags the jewellery he stole from Mrs Blair place

now the police had the criminal and let him go

simply because his skin color was white as snow

this is the type of injustice which exist for colored folks

The color of your skin is a separation for different strokes"

Police Approach Black Men

Radio car screeches and a platoon of cops emerge
Get down on the floor Mother puckers and don't say another word
What's going on officers, why am i in cuffs?
Didnt you go to school boy? Didn't you hear to shut up?
We are looking for drug dealers and you fit the bill
Now tell me how many people you robbed and kill?
Please, we were just out here chilling, we are not drug dealers
Police laughs and knocks his head on the car door, all you miggers are dealers

Do you have any ID on you, are you all on parole?
Talk up now before this situation gets cold
College? that's a laugh, where did you get this ID?
I am going to charge you for forgery and probably assaulting me
You dirt bags are always here making mischieve from ever since
Don't believe because you have a black president you can't be lynched
SHUT UP BOY! Don't speak until i say
When i am done the judge will lock you permanently away

Whats this in your pocket, is this drugs yours?
Oh no Sir! I NEVER had that on me!
Are you saying i am lying, i searched you and this is what i see
Come over here boys, i found what looks like crack/cocaine on this chicken lover
Great job, one more dark skin life gets to be over
I think we did pretty good today, wouldn't you say?
We put another one of THEM away

"So now the statistics increases,

an innocent black man sentenced, the injustice is spreading like diseases

We cry, we get angry, we beg and we plea

But our hearts are heavy, sinking to the bottom of the sea

Who does black lives matter to? Is there any one that cares

Neither blacks or Whites

Do you believe police exercise discrimination when it comes on to race?

Even though racist cops live everywhere, i think America has it worst. English police are more on the polite end while an American cop will shoot you if you sneeze! I personally think the people who become law enforcers need much rigid screening when it comes on to any for of bias behavior.

Great poem Clive. Very thought provoking. As a cop for 30 years, I have no doubt that there are police officers who equate black people with crime. Thankfully they are in the minority- at least in the UK. When I was a police chief I brought together a bunch of street cops and a bunch of street kids to 'debate' stop and search (I think you call it Stop and Frisk?). After a cathartic exchange on both sides, there was a coming together as the cops realised these kids were being stopped on a daily basis and this might just affect their attitude!...and the kids realised that more often than not the cops were acting on genuine information from the public- unfortunately they didn't always explain this to the kids. It was a risky experiment but went a long way to improving relationships between cops and young black people on the streets.

Not long after this I was stopped and searched whilst off duty by cops from a neighbouring force....but there again I am an ethnic minority too!

      They were very polite though!!

I have got a couple of white friends who are taking criminal justice and want to be police or work in law enforcement. I told them my idea of them going undercover as black. They thought it was a good idea.

Good news. Google Jeff Kephart. Jeff kephart is a white man disguised as a black man. He has been living as a black man for 4 years. He said he takes melatonin II to get skin black. He still has white man hair style though.

At the very least all the white people who live in black areas who complain about racism should take some melatonin II and cut their hair off and live as black. Or get a black friend to protect you if you can. Never ask a white person to protect you from a black racist. Race change fever baby!!!

As long as we ignore the all out of proportion black crime rates, and simply rail at law enforcement instead, nothing will change. Even black people are wary of other black people and for good reason:

“There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps... then turn around and see somebody white and feel relieved.”

      ― Jesse Jackson

Young males of any race who grow up without a father in the home are prone to involvement in drugs, crime, and prison. My own, very white nephew grew up without a father, and now he's doing 22 years in prison.

Unfortunately, nearly 75% of young black males are currently being born out of wedlock, and if we, as a nation, continue to ignore that ongoing family disaster out of some stupid fear of political correctness, the slaughter in the nation's inner cities will continue, and we will continue to falsely blame police rather that admit that there is a problem.

BTW, if you call me a racist for simply stating the truth, then you are part of the political correctness problem. In order to solve a problem, we have to first admit that the problem exists.

Clive you've told your story so effectively

There's no denial Blacks are treated differently

A white man, a black man vying for a cab

Which one will the cabbie grab?

Two men standing in line at a bank, one white the other black

Which one is watched more closely by the security guard Jack.

Hopefully the black man will one day own the cab and the bank

Let's hope he remembers how it used to be

And starts a new trend of brotherly love that will last throughout eternity.

Janshares, i could not reply any better than you did. @Willstar....could you please post me the link to your statistical facts please.

Police have always been discriminating against black people, whether you are a gang banger or a decent citizen who abides by the law and contributes good to society. Once they approach you they see skin color first. Police kill more innocent blacks than solving white crime cases. They use the black man as a target practice for ignorance, arrogance and overall injustice. For all white people who say this isn't so....disguise as a black man for at least a day and simply go walking!!!!

Clive, I applaud you for speaking the truth as it happens. Whether on a large or small scale, whether in urban or rural areas, or across races on both sides of the law, it happens.

Media does not have to be present for police brutality or police discrimination to happen. I agree that the media has a secondary gain in sensationalizing hot issues such as race once they get hold of the story. But that does not make it any less a reality. Have you seen the latest case with former tennis star James Blake? No one was there taping it but security cameras at the hotel picked it up. It is a very sad example of what still happens in 2015.

Whether the motivation is racial bias or rogue policing or, as in most cases, a mixture of both, it does happen. Crime statistics cannot cause, nor should it justify, bad policing. Police tactics and the fair treatment of citizens are dictated by general orders put forth by the police departments and, more importantly, driven by the oath officers take to protect, serve, and enforce the law in an ethical manner.

Thanks, Clive, for addressing this hot button issue that is very timely and sure to ignite many opinions.

So I do believe this kind of injustice and racism does exist in the world today. However, I believe the media reports it in a way that keeps these race wars fueled.

Where I live, I can't say that this happens often. Actually, our big city is predominantly black, and we have just as many black officers than we do white. I have known of the cards being turned because of this, I've known some whites personally that have been pretty abused under the black officers. Sadly, in this world it's the vice versa of that, that makes the news. I think it is a shame that we can't see that fact and we continue to fuel fires of race. It should stop!!! No more!!!

And before anyone accuses me of being racist, I can assure you I am not. Both my children are bi-racial, and I also have friends of all colors and cultures. I love that fact, but I don't love the fact that we are still pushing this unfair war on race. The media is corrupt in detailing facts.

The elephant in the living room here, is that just 4% of the population (young black males) commits over 50% of all gun murders. On top of that, blacks commit crimes at a rate several times that of other races. With that in mind, we would be insane to expect law enforcement not to take that into consideration when performing their daily duties.

I agree that it is terribly unfair and unjust for good, honest people to be viewed suspiciously due to the color of their skin, but that will never change as long as blacks commit so much crime, so the real solution is to encourage fathers to marry mothers and raise their children to obey the law, go to school to learn, and become productive, happy adults.

As my grandma used to say, the proof is in the pudding. There are too many instances of police racism to say it does not exist. Change happens when the citizenry demands it and not a moment before. It is time we demand it.
