When The leaves Russle And The Trees Are Left Bare

Updated on September 2, 2010

A Fun Time Of The Year

The warm air turned cool and my thoughts are exciting and new

So many things in life happen in a blink of an eye

The beautiful colors of leaves change to a brown

The flowers die and fall to the ground

The long hours of daylight vanish

Children whose voices were heard day after day

Are now in a classroom with little time to play

Mothers have more time to rest without the little ones under their feet

The school buses our lined up like numbers on a number line

You can hear the horns beep as the traffic backs up

The school buses waiting their turn to travel to their next destination

The bugs have disappeared and won't be feared

Because the summer we love has turned to fall

Now  I am happy to say

I can't wait to put the air conditioners away
