When Time Runs Out

Updated on May 16, 2013

It Happened Again

I have an idea and it is late

Oh well so be it

I try to write and my mind keeps my fingers typing

Saying in a very strong authorative voice

Type will you

I could train my toes to type faster than that

So here I type and I am up against a timeline

We all need sleep and with sleep we can rest

But then this will be another idea that will drift off into outer space

Then I will have to watch it on reruns of Lost And Space

So I rub my eyes for the third time

I feel the creek in my neck time and time again

Wiggling it side to side

I wonder if the Wiggles can help me with that one

I set my own limits

Until this day I say I push until I reach the outer limits

So maybe your a sleep when I started or just woke up when I posted this

If you have an idea and want to share it with so many other hubbers

There is only one way

Think, type and retype and retype until you get it right

I hope your faster than me then you won't be up half the night

I can only do and say so much

After reading a few hubs that were so well written and right on point

I get a few ideas

They came out great and I was so happy to read other hubbers work

I must confess I am far from an expert

I do however have one thing in my favor

I don't know the meaning of the word can't, don't or later

So I ask you while you sleep tonight if you could help me out a bit

Dream , dream the impossible

Then I will be right beside you cheering you on

Because I know one day this will all be worth it

Even thought now it is 5:17 A.M. and I haven't been to bed yet

Thoughts are like raisins you have one you want another

But if you forget their there they will get old and before you know it

You have to throw them out

What a waste

When all you really wanted to do is pull them out

To enjoy all their flavor and goodness

They are healthy for you too

I know I feel good after I write

Even if it is a little or a lot

I love to stir up new thoughts

Oh I wish I had a horse

I would call my horse dreams Alot

Then we could give each other company

Because I have been told horses never lay down

That would give me enough incentive

To push on and finish one more sentence

For now I am sure

Off to bed I go and when I wake

I wonder if I will find my place

Then again maybe I will see

Dreams Alot came in second place

What a race and I can finish up

My own little competition

Where no thought gets left behind

GypsyRose Lee I figured out years ago we can do many things in one day but it is only the smart people who do the right things day after day.It might be boring but I don't have the misery of the wrong choices and their consequences.Pick and choose wisely for each decision builds on the one before.Have fun along the wayit makes every choice special and exciting.Thanx for reading and most of all thanx for chosing my hub over the millions of hubs.May your day go well.

Always been that way with me too. The more inspiration that comes the more I want to do and time just runs on. Sometimes there doesn't seem to be enough time for everything.

Mhatter99 I use to think I had all the time in the world( My constant vision when I was young)but as I got older I understand now more than ever the value of time.Maybe you might want to get a program called Dragon Speech where all you have to do is talk and it types for you.I have never had it but people say it is wonderful.Hope your day goes well.Thanx so much for reading and sharing.kidscrafts I often dig deep into my feelings and let my mind seek what I want.I heard horses always stand up so that was kind of company that wouldn't leave me.Then after I did go to sleep I still thought about the horse and it living it's own life.I turned it into a race horse and being a good race horse at that.I love working nights but I also love to get up early and enjoy the day.So whenever I get to write is good enough for me day or night. So fun to share our deep and lost secrets and dreams.Thanx for sharing and having fun.It makes life more interesting.

Thank you for taking the time to explain. I could feel the lack of sleep but I didn't know if your are a night owl or not.

One of the thing that lost me completely was the horse (I loved the name).... but the hors might have been a dream.

Have a great day! Thanks again!

Sparklea I love how you struggle through and continue writing a little more than before. We are pushed by inner spirit to succeed.I am glad you enjoyed it so much.DDE Writing for me comes in spurts.I could write down the main points but the energy and drive behind the idea has fizzled. You are able to write with or without inspiration and I need more than just the time.kidscrafts Thanx for explaining your views I believe everyone might read into poems and pull out what they want or need or think it is to them. There is no right or wrong.I was writing about my time being limited and no matter what I tried to sqeeze in my thoughts and views at this very moment. For me writig is freedom and taking all the good things in life and enjoying them one by one. After being up so long my thoughts get punchy.I will try to clarify. My main wish is that everyone learn something from someone else.Thasnx everyone and have a beautiful night.

Interesting but sorry, I don't totally understand this one. Sometimes I have still some limit in English :-(

I read your poem at least twice! I feel like you are developping several ideas but I can't get a solid grip on any of them.

Writing ideas come and go you just got to know to write down the main points and get to it

Voted up, useful, interesting and AWESOME.

This hub will be a terrific encouragement to writers. LOVE that you write, "I don't know the meaning of the word, can't, don't or later...dream the impossible..."

Your analogy about the raisins was terrific.

I can totally relate to your statement, "I know I feel good after I write, even if it is a little or a lot."

Any writer would agree with that. Every day I try to add at least a few lines to the book I am working on...even if only for five minutes in the midst of the busyness which I refuse to become a slave to.

A writer has one obligation: to write. To make writing a major, daily priority.

Thank you for the push and the encouragement. Hope you get some sleep.

      Blessings, Sparklea :)
