When You Come Up Blank

Updated on December 4, 2013

Don't Give Up Give More

Kick off your shoes and begin again

Get a fresh start

Jump in a shower it takes your mind off your troubles and makes you feel good

That works for me

Work through it

Find a way

We all get stumped at different times in our life

We get all frustrated and find no hope

There was an old saying I heard many times growing up

When you can't see the forest through the trees

I never quite new what it meant or if I only remember half of it

So my take on it is...

You are in the middle of something and you are too close

You can't find your way out

Step back see your situation in a different light

Breathe and breathe some more

In a world when everything happens so fast

In a mil second

We have no time to react

What's the hurry ?

Where are you going ?

Slow it down

Slow it way down

Go in slow motion if you have to

Have fun with it

You would be surprised what happens next

You have fun

You laugh

You joke

Get up and do something you have never done

Be real creative

Try eating a raw onion like an apple

That will definitely make you think about the craziest stuff

Try sniffing some black pepper

That will make you sneeze

At least you took your mind off your current situation

One of my favorites is trying to drink three glasses of water

When you really don't want to

It is not fun

You feel bloated and don't care if you ever see water again

So create something out of nothing

You have a empty chalkboard or a plain piece of paper

You get to decide

Get a ruler

Draw one line then go from there

What creation have you made ?

Be proud of what you have done

Hang it on your refridgerator like when you were a kid

You have done two things

Made something out of nothing

Accepted the truth we all go through slumps

Where nothing seems important

I am old school

I get my camera out and take as many pictures as I can

Now with the aid of a memory card you can take thousands of pictures

It cost you nothing

Today people have their phones

That take the best pictures in the world

All at a click of a button

So I am off to take a few pictures and change my thoughts

From grey to a rainbow in every color

I will type later and find my mood

I have to think like a bowler who bowls a bad box

You know you can do it

For some reason you are a little bit off

Get your head in the game

You are having a bad day

Forget what you have done

That will only aggravate you even more

Don't curse or complain

It only encourages more of the same

Laugh it off

Shake it off

Think of better thoughts

Something that made you instantly happy

Now go bowl like a pro

Who knows he can do it and does it

annart I have to reach deep down in my mind and pull the cob webs out. It slows the gears down and they begin to rust. So nice to see other people that love the beauty of pictures and in life all around them. You made my day. I see a pale blue sky and the grass is brown and the trees are bare. After reading your comment I pretend the sun is shining bright and the flowers are in full bloom. What a difference one thought can make. Have a great day.

An encouraging poem, full of action. 'From grey to a rainbow' - great! I too take hundreds of photos; there's always something new, different, interesting. It's good to slow down and take note of whatever you see, good to try something different. Upbeat poem. Up, useful & beautiful. Ann
