In accord with nature -a haiku riddle

Updated on August 1, 2012

A haiku riddle

Encouraging the appreciation of nature and playing about with the haiku form. Do suggest what creates such harmony in nature. (Note: The picture isn't necessarily a clue. )

Living in harmony with nature

Lovely melody

As it touches the flowers

One with their colors

A beautiful presence

Touch gentle, flowers will bloom

Caressing softly

'

Blending joyfully

Vibrant flowers grow as one

Stroking them with care

      Michelle,

I know this response will probably be different than most, but poetry has the ability to do that for the reader! :) I thought of raindrops, because you menti0ned the idea of allowing the flowers to grow.

Beautiful poem though and the pictures were excellent!

And why not, Josh, it was deliberately written as being open to interpretation! And yours is a great one as usual!

      Hi Midget38

Beautiful, I love butterflies. I tried to take a picture of a butterfly sitting on a flower but it kept fluttering from flower to flower. :)

      Voted up and away.

      Take care :)

A nice haiku with a convincing message - we should learn to appreciate nature and live in harmony with nature. The video is engaging & syncs well with this equally engaging haiku. Well-done!

Beautiful as usual. I envy you the gift of writing these Haikus. The video was good, but I had trouble reading the text that went with it. Maybe a little larger next time, huh??

      Hi Michelle,

We have taken Mother Nature for granted that we hardly pay attention to beautiful things that we are surrounded by.

At such times, a reminder- as beautiful as this one from you- changes the entire picture. And you have done your work very well.

Thanks. Enjoyed the beauty of nature immensely. Thank you. Cheers, Rema.

Hi Rema, that's a lovely compliment indeed. So glad you've come by!! It's sad...we take nature completely for granted either through the various destructive means we know or by ignoring it completely. We've to be in harmony!! Thanks for coming by!

Beautiful nature surrounds us and we humans are interdependent upon it. Your poetry made me think of a soft rain followed by a colorful rainbow illuminating the blooming flowers. It is surely open to different interpretations! Well done.

Haiku was originally about nature, and later people began to tweak with other ideas. Michelle, your haikus are very creative.

    • midget38 profile image
      Author

Michelle Liew 4 years ago from Singapore

Yes, agreed. Especially as the original Japanese Haiku became infused with ideas from western poetry...new ideas meant new things to write about...so Haiku now is not ostensibly just about nature. It can be about KU, as sunshine did...or socks, like Dana! Now it's really just about life in general. Glad to connect over Haiku with you!!
