When the Rains Came Along

Updated on December 1, 2015

She always smiled

so brilliantly

life was so full

of wonder and awe

the days as they passed

brought smiles galore

and her muses would sing

bringing inspiration

keeping her busy many a long night

until the storm clouds gathered

and the rains came

when the rains came

her heart was always in pain

her smile turned upside down

nothing was pleasing any more

the muses would cry

when the rains came

she wondered if the sun would shine again

wondered when the clouds would part

it nearly broke her heart

inspiration could not break through

not when the storm clouds

rolled across the skies

just as quickly a rainbow appeared

sun rays peeped through

the shadows all parted

and the muses could sing once more

and erase her frown

then the days were livable once more

they were full of happiness and joy

life was worth living again

she felt like dancing

as inspiration came in waves

that washed over page after page

the sky so bright blue

the night so tranquil

the moon and stars so bright

everything was always fine

until the rains came along once more

So she favours only the Light. Smart. But darkness has its only beauty. Great Poem.

I don't think she has enough light to survive in some of my darker works. :) A little different for you, Rasma, but I love it.

Is the weather turning cool there? I find that I tend to write sad poems when the sun hides. Lovely Rasma...

Aww, sad yet hopeful. Unfortunately, (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) the rains must come before the sun can shine.

Beautiful metaphors, Rasma. Sometimes the rain is what brings my muse alive, especially when rainbows are the result.

Lovely interpretation of the life of the muse.
