When the waterfall meets the cliff, a haiku

Updated on August 13, 2013
Source

Waterfalls have traditionally represented the feminine of nature and the cliff, the masculine. The downward flow of water perfectly complements the upward structure of the cliff. It is natural for the two to join and coexist.

When the talents of everyone on Earth, all men and women, combine, there can be nothing but greatness.

Do enjoy the symbolism in this haiku!

Cascading torrents

Crashing on jagged rocks

Frustrated noises

Rising in greatness

Towering, exudes great strength

Power in greatness

Great cacophony

When water touches the cliff

Infusing, cojoined

When the waterfall meets a cliff, it is nature’s symbolism at it’s best. Here’s a hint: ups and downs, men and women! Looking forward to your interpretations!

      Michelle,

Another beautiful haiku with some awesome pictures!

As I was reading this haiku, I was thinking of how life consists of good times and bad times. But these moments somehow become interwoven and result in who we are today! Thanks for sharing Michelle!

The power of nature seen in falling water. Isn't it wonderful nature can distill it's impurities. We need to take lessons. Awesome words and pictures.

      Powerful!

It made me think of a city, rising tall, infused with people of many races rushing individually, yet, when all was said and done, they had become a single entity.

But then, what do I know! lol

      Great job!

I am having problems with receiving notifications lately and was unaware of this Haiku until I went into your profile!!

AWESOME JOB!!!! I am always so very impressed by your Haiku poetry!!!

While reading this and after reading your comment, I picture very difficult and hard times but it is the hard times that can give strength to any relationship or hard times can also destroy a relationship.

Rocks are generally unmoving and strong...however, when touched with the strength and power of moving water, can be very dangerous and slippery or can become softer on the surface and forced by the water to budge.

In a relationship, better watch out because a waterfall is not stopped by the rocks, so the rock should become movable and softer, or the relationship could be crushed into the depths of the stream.

      Voted Awesome, UP, and Shared!!!

This is so insightful, Patty! Yes, the interaction between the water and rocks definitely parallels the interaction between human beings as you have so rightly pointed out. And, so right, we need to be aware of the give and take in a relationship!! Thanks for sharing, Patty!! You're awesome as usual!
