Where Art Thou, O God? (A Poem)

Updated on June 8, 2013

Where Art Thou, O God?

(A Poem)

Our Divine and All-Powerful God: Do you truly love us? How many times have we heard the phrase: "God loves you?" Do you expect sunny skies, which have no grays where all you could see is blue?

Where is God when things go wrong? Are we supposed to ignore the chaos and pretend everything is coming along? Does God ever listen to our prayers anymore? Does God even care?

The truth is God never promised that there will be no trials in our lives,

Or that we will be free from suffering

Or that everything will have a happy ending.

God wants us to understand His role in our lives:

It is in sorrows that we realize we need God's guidance,

It is in darkness that we see God's radiant light,

It is when we commit our problems to God that we can be at peace with ourselves.

How do we get our Lord's guidance?

How do we see our Lord's radiant light?

How do we fully commit ourselves to the Lord?

The truth is God never left us-we are the ones who left Him.

His love for us is everlasting-we just need to reach out to Him.

Our Heavenly Father wants us to fully trust in Him.

Why not give God a chance?

Put your trust in God:

Pray when things are going well,

Pray when things go wrong;

Pray when you want to yell,

Pray when you would rather mourn,

Pray whenever you feel like praying.

You see? God never gave up on us.

All He wants us to do is to reach out to him by praying.

So, pray without ceasing: pray, Pray, PRAY!

Hi there, Caroline: Yes, prayer is the only answer and realizing that our prayers are not earthbound, but this is a conversation we must have with our Father and it is taking place in heaven where He is. We thank Him for the free passage we have through Jesus Christ our Lord. God bless you for such a powerful and prayer quaking poem.

Thank you very much, whonu, for your kind words as well as sharing your difficult and very challenging journey. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I am glad that my poem was able to encourage you to pray. I truly believe in the power of prayer. Just remember: God never throws anything at us that we cannot handle. He will be there during your major operation. May God bless you today and always! Thank you for visiting and commenting on my hub, whonu!
