Where Did Beauty Come From?: a Poem

Updated on July 30, 2017

Val is a life-long student of the psycho-philosophy of living and a devoted practitioner of many techniques that enhance personal evolution.

This old fascination with beauty of a flower

of ocean's sunsets and everything living

from ever seemed to have this mysterious power

to tantalize my mind with a sheer disbelieving.

Too simple to me to ascribe it all to a god

I searched through my mind for beauty's true source

with every coming answer looking so odd

including the one about a natural course.

Then one day in epiphany of a kind

it all became so clear to me

so I felt grateful to my mind

for making it possible for me to see.

Yes, beauty came from my own eyes

my soul telling them what to see

making those flowers so magically nice

and basking some creatures in a fascinating glee.

For, without any souls and their insistence

no beauty would be there or a need for any

so it's beauty of the soul creating its existence

to match its own image and making so many.
