Where Heavens Lie..

Updated on September 22, 2013
Source

Though I often wonder, where the heavens lie

is in the river .. or upon the sky

Were the colorful stars ..put there for me,

for only my eyes .. this do I see

As darkness shrouds... the coming night,

I have a sense ...of the deepest fright

Is heaven there .. is it where I see

or just in my mind, where I want to be ..

I let the Lord, guide me to this place

for within my heart... I keep this space

open wide... for all to see

words written simply.. for him and me

Do you think heaven is in your mind ..or just an imaginary place in your soul

I was going to print this out and put it on my wall, but it is more fun to come back and look at it over here at Michael's place.

Good morning Eric..your comment is appreciated. I spent the weekend alone for two days as my wife was out of town ..and it certainly left me feeling blue .. I thought a lot about my life and if I was being myself, writing the things I wanted to write, or if I was wasting my time by trying to touch one heart , bring love or peace to one soul, through my writes and if it was actually making a difference to anyone other than me.

You actually have helped me immensely with your hubs and your thoughts on being a human being, compassion, spirituality, love and goodness. I thank you for that .. but every once in a while these thoughts of not making a difference overwhelm me and I want to stop writing, I feel it is just depression from my troubled past that is calling me , I know we all have problems and I thank you for listening to my ramblings and the support you gave and continue to give to others .

      Peace be unto you..my friend.

      Michael

Tlhoughts of many expressed in your beautiful words. In dark times in our lives we wonder if heaven is really there, even if we believe in it deeply. It is man's nature to doubt when things get rough. "Words written simply for him and me" but reflecting the thoughts of many!

      Voted up and awesome.

I must say that I visited this poem at least three times yesterday. Each time more thoughts came. Most assuredly I have seen hell on earth. So this made me think hard about whether or not I have seen heaven here also. I have concluded that I have not seen hell on earth -- just parts of it but never the whole picture.

Alas therefor it is true I have seen parts of heaven here, just not the whole big picture.

Glad I was missed, but as I commented on your comment on my hub, we had our granddaughters up all weekend, so I am behind on commenting. We had them with us until late this evening and then brought them back home. So, I had to catch up on all those who left comments on my own hubs for when the girls are up, they get my 100% attention. My one with the broken wing, really no longer has a broken wing as the cast is off and she is doing ballerina twirls with both arms in the air, as if no injury! Praise Him, to God be the glory! She still has to do a bit of physical therapy to be able to stretch her elbow part of her arm out, but it seems to be doing just fine.

      Have a blessed week,

      Faith Reaper

What a special blessing to read your lovely poetry knowing that the Lord has given it to you and you are obedient to share with us all here to His glory! Yes, I believe in heaven without a doubt and that it is a real place, and that He has placed a little bit of it right here on earth for us to get just a bit of a glimpse.

I am reminded of scripture found in Rev. 4:2-3; 5-6 of the vision ( and your imagery here) ...

"And before the THRONE there was a Sea of Glass like unto crystal." ... Ezekiel in describing his vision of the "Throne of God" says--"Above the ... Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet, while the one around the Throne of God is EMERALD."

      Stunning Michael!

      Up and more and sharing

God bless you. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Very beautiful and of course I believe in heaven, what would life be without it? Our hope of every day is what God promised of things eye has not seen nor ear heard so our spiritual bodies are going to see and hear and we know we eat with Jesus so no doubt anytime we want. Just hard to use fleshly bodies to imagine spiritual rewards but I have no doubts. All of your beautiful poetry I know comes from a spirit God put in you. He will collect it when all is over. ^

I believe in heaven. I’ve had a couple of experiences that seemingly came out of nowhere that have convinced me of this. Then, there are the earthly heavens we see and feel…the beauty of nature and the miracles of humanity. Beautiful poem. :-)
