Where's Our Daughter ?

Updated on March 11, 2016

She Was With You

Last time I seen her

Let me think ?

She was in the kitchen

No I seen her in our bedroom taking a nap

Sound a sleep

I remember she got up late last night to eat

I heard her early this morning in the living room

I don't know what she was doing

She will be six this April

She acts like a forty year old

It's hard to picture life before her

When we were first married

That was so long ago

Fifteen years this year

Many reasons to celebrate

It's amazing how much our lives have changed

We moved out of state shortly after that

Thought of changing jobs a few times

Then decided it was best to stay where we were

In that time we have traveled over a half million miles together

I started my writing on line six years ago

Sharing what I did only privately

Now open to critism and advice

A big step

Revealing and uplifting

Your company has moved once and now they are planning to move again

Between both jobs we have seen over ten managers come and go

We became home owners for the first time

Our long time neighbors have moved

They are more than friends

They became our extended family

We don't see much of them any more

Busy with two teenagers of their own

It's funny how many twists and turns life makes

You don't see it when it is happening to you

You are caught up in the moment

One time we had three cars

Too many and expensive

Do you remember when we had three cats ?

I forgot about that

Now only one

I didn't tell you our daughter is a cat

We are blessed with lots of nieces and nephews

God parents to four children

No children of our own

Because we are on the road alot

It makes life easier

We work nights and have a different schedule than most

At times things get tense like any marriage

We find a way to work it out

In that time we both have lost a parent

Your father and my mother

Both will be missed

What we can do is be thankful for what we have

Each of us lost one parent years ago

Then we knew the other one could leave us at any time

We had so many more good years

When your young you think your parents will be here forever

To watch and guide you through life

Like aunts and uncles

We have lossed five

Life is a series of highs and lows

Not sure what will happen from this day forward

All I know is my heart and soul is in every step of the way

May your life be fulfilling and rewarding

Have an awesome day

Jodah Our cat Charlotte gives us her full attention every time we come home. She is moody the rest of the time either in our face or just wants to be alone. Always a surprise and makes our days and nights interesting. Thank you for reading and adding your comments to make my hubs pop. Have a great weekend.

This is so real Dream On. Our pets are our children too, as all our human kids have grown and moved away. Thank you for sharing your life through your writing. You are an asset to the community here.
