Where's the Balance?

Updated on March 29, 2012

Oh the I swear...that scale that always tips in the wrong direction,
I've tried to tip it back...on a personal and formal level...there it goes tipping over there somewhere,
I jump and pry...stay and hide...throw a round house and a steady fist at the scale...there it goes again,
All the while small rocks fall from the cliff above...smacking the metal scale of no cushioning whatsoever.

The brazen fall...a megalithic structure that falls seemingly with the opposing scale...a monstrosity,
So it is that I pull and yank...the grips coming loose like a slicked tire at a racetrack...but why,
One direction then the other...back and forth motions that act
Like a ship in high seas,
Unable to get it into order...sails a waving...drop them quickly maybe the wind can't use.

Responsible acts over the non-moralistic selections of others...the next day I will do the latter,
Like a drink from fat-free milk...understanding the whole milks pros and cons...still reach for it's wonders,
Never mind this nor that...seeing only this one sided scale of calamity over the calm...braze over patience,
I walk to the other of heaviness and selfish desires...the scale suddenly reaching a balance.

What the flying caboose was that...I stand on the loaded one side and it balances...yet the lighter side and me cant budge it,
Jumping up the heavy load of selfish ambitions...the scale feels so stable and sturdy...the other oh so wobbly,
I try and fight the urges to give in and divulge in the worlds prizes...find and collect the many stacks of gold,
Oh wait...I must stay on the side of light and's the scale of one sided world ventures...Where's the Balance?

Ytsenoh, thank you for your understanding of my meaningless meanings. I'm greatly appreciative of the way you thought it to be a stream of consciousness, thank you.

Thank you Victoria, I'm glad you were able to hang on through the poem and catch the raw emotion in it's meaning.

I agree with Victoria. Almost reminded me of stream of consciousness, you know? Sometimes what appears to be random thoughts aren't necessarily entitled to be all that random. You've done a good job hear stirring the mind to think while processing the read. And since I am a full-time thinker, I give you thumbs up on this. Thanks.

Wow. I sense in the words the search for order, the jumping around from thought to thought to that effort. I really enjoyed reading this. You had me in it throughout. Voted up, awesome, interesting, useful, beautiful. So many creative people with bipolar disorder. There must be something to that. Loved your hub.
