Which Knob To Choose

Updated on April 15, 2013

Two doors standing side by side, the unknown beyond each one hides
Which knob to choose, a haunting challenge; a choice that holds two lives in balance
The wrong choice makes her loved ones perish, the other frees her heart’s cherish
A voice in darkness begs her on. “Make the choice; right or wrong!”
“I’m getting board, Choose now; you’re taking much too long.”

“If you chose right you all go free, if not you stay for eternity”
For days she’s only heard his voice, and now she’s forced to make a choice.
His face is always from her hid, except his voice from darkness bids
That voice that permeates the soul and on her sanity it toils
Day and night taunting on, without emotion it carries on

A week ago she felt so happy, her son and husband with her laughing
She trembles thinking on the night, the cold hand’s grasp she tried to fight
When she awoke she was alone in this dark room away from home
She knew not of her family’s fate, but now this choice she’s forced to make
Which knob to choose which door to take, deep inside she starts to quake

She tries but it’s so hard to breathe, she balances on trembling knees
That voice continues from above, “Choose Right and save the ones you love!”
“If you choose wrong; they both will die, then its forever you and I”
She reaches out and gasps a knob and feels her heart begin to throb
With trembling hand she makes the choice, will she find her family or the voice?©
