While the Schemers Rage ( a poem of reconciliation)

Updated on December 1, 2015
A new day dawning and a better day...
A new day dawning and a better day...
A time to be united, not divided...
A time to be united, not divided...
The dark, the hidden, the unjust, shall fall into oblivion, as we are united in strength...
The dark, the hidden, the unjust, shall fall into oblivion, as we are united in strength...
We must decide upon what is written with better judgment and greatest consideration...
We must decide upon what is written with better judgment and greatest consideration...
We are often subjects of much deceit and our intelligence will see us through...
We are often subjects of much deceit and our intelligence will see us through...
For every bad day another good day awaits...we must have faith...
For every bad day another good day awaits...we must have faith...
One voice heard in the wilderness heard by many and its message is passed onward in victory.
One voice heard in the wilderness heard by many and its message is passed onward in victory.

In these present days of such injustice and unrest,

Hatred seems to permeate our breaths, the very air,

Must we all fall into this web of such a vile deceit,

Accepting every opinion, voiced, or forceful scare?

Why do the most powerful rant and have so raged?

Could this be to hide an agenda so unjustly staged?

A disruption to mask the truth in their terrible script,

That of a very darkened plan, and our lives to be ripped.

As a shaken nation, It is almost broken and unamended.

They are leaving the masses that are at risk, and all so undefended.

Racial hatred preached by those, of the once respected,

Poorest public servants, and their bad acts resurrected.

Tensions perceived by people, around the whole world,

Each focused on the wrongest acts, as we all are hurled,

Daily are so drummed in minds, and on human senses,

Hidden in the rhetoric, there, are their most evil pretenses.

Must we forget what has made us such a greater nation,

When led by righteous men, by their great determination?

Will we all to fall along the wayside, in our own distress,

Forgetting accomplishments, how we've all been blessed?

Never to turn a deafened ear, to all dealt upon the stage,

We must differentiate bad from just, written upon the page.

Stand up for the goodness that's made our country so great!

Respect every brother, sister, special cultures, to appreciate!

Amen! Perhaps if we concentrate and demonstrate loving our fellow man, the world will spin in a positive direction. We can only hope and lead by example.

Meanwhile, we're waiting to hear the motives for the mass killing at San Bernadino a few hours ago. How we need people to "Stand up for the goodness that's made our country so great!" rather than give in to their demons! Good word from you!

It's a shame the terrorists can't understand this philosophy, and never will. Respect around the world and all countries working towards that would be the idea, wouldn't it? It will take a lot of effort and a long time, I fear, but the right approach will win through in the end - it has to.

And you're right that we must concentrate on the positive and the accomplishments.

      This flows beautifully.

Well penned. I do think we all need reminding of our commonalities. I must say the last two years or so seem to be more racially divisive than I ever remember previously. I is a sad state of affairs. Hopefully good will prevail.

Good questions raised here. Lots of emotions in this. Love the rhythmic cadence and the rhymes that seems so effortless. Well done.
