Who I am

Regardless of what we think we are and where we are going in life, understanding who we are is one of our greatest challenges. We can pretend, project and aspire to be anything, but not acknowledging who we are is a recipe for disaster.

The pursuit of happiness is dependent on this understanding, for without it we live in a world of illusion, of empty hopes and pretence. Often age is an opportunity of acceptance of our own truth, our personal reality. And having experienced the pitfalls of rejecting truth, I can honestly say there is a peace in finding love for us, an acceptance of our humanity, faults and all.

We can never be perfect, but learning from our mistakes and accepting our inadequacies as challenges creates a better balance in life. I hope you enjoy this poetic offering.

Who I am

To remind me of the man I am, I sometimes fall to lesser plans,

and prove to me beyond a doubt that I can’t fool what I’m about.

I often try a bad boy’s lie to see if crime would suit my life,

but I am just a dreamer’s bed a product of what mother fed.

Of justice, right and balance me, of knowledge faith and life decree,

I cannot fight what I’m to be, amidst a world of strife.

For as much as I am flesh and blood, my spirit strives for peace and love,

I can but bow to what I am, a poets mind romantic.

As cynical as I sometime seem, the hope instilled has idle been,

Just waiting quiet and moment reap the benefit of my truth.

As sure as sun imbues our souls, we are but fragments of our whole,

Impossible to refrain from will, our nature sure and true.

I am who I am, regardless me, must come to terms and let it be.

That just proves learning is infinite, You're right though. The more you think you know, the more you need to.

      have a great day RB.

No, no, no.... the more I learn the less I realize I know. Every question I ask the Universe comes back as an answer that leads more questions. By the time I die I won't know anything.

Confusion is a state of pre-learning, 'cause the only way to stop being confused is to understand and therefore learn. Thanks for dropping by RB.

Nice to reflect on one's me-ness. I'm personally more confused that ever.
