Who Knows The Real Answer ?

Updated on February 27, 2014

Is Life Really About Guessing ?

From the time I was old enough to hear

I heard good things, bad things and even swears

Some true things

Make believe stories that would make your skin crawl

All kinds of things people say every day

Growing up I was taught to tell the truth and lies will only get you in trouble

Then it was when I was in college

People began to tell me don't believe what the news or newspaper says it is not the truth

The military can't tell you the truth either because everything is top secret

So they lie to the public for the safety of United States

They like to give spin on their story to make it more exciting (news worthy )

Now on the computer we see all kinds of secrets the Government doesn't want you to know

How everyone is out to make you believe and see life their way

So I began to wonder what is the truth ?

Is it our version that we want to believe

The facts that happen right before our eyes

Then I read how four witnesses can see the same crime and all see it differently

So I am back to the real question what is the truth ?

Is everyone biased in some way

Do we all want to change the facts and give our version of life

Right, wrong or somewhere inbetween

If you have any suggestions or input I would really appreciate it

I remember watching Dragnet as a kid

Just the facts nothing but the facts

Well now I have to see it a different way

Tell me what you know and let us all be the judge

Harishprasad The search continues ... Along the way I have found love carries us through the good and the bad. Not an easy one quick answer but one that gives me compassion and more love to move ahead. It is you that bring the shadows out of the darkness and light out in the open. Because you dig deeper into every question and pulling out possible solutions and conclusions. I am so amazed. How far we have come an yet how much we still have to learn. Thank you for all your input and may we carry on with great dignity and pride holding our head high. Thanks for reading and commenting. They both mean so much to me.

What is truth, what is life, what is heaven... an endless search about goings on in this planet but it is always a mind churning and entertaining and also sometimes very insightful journey all along. Scientists come up with some discoveries and some very useful inventions, writers find some great stories, poets some poems, philosophers some fantastic ways of viewing aspects of our existence. Don't you think this quest makes our life interesting and joyful ? Your poem raises some very pertinent questions about the ways of our upbringing, ways of the governance , deceptive functioning of media, security systems etc. etc. We all agree that non-violence and goodness is very crucial but at the same time, we can't do without our security systems and armaments either. So, in a sense, we also give importance to violence equally, if need be. So, truth sometimes appears before us with a very different face, disguised and hidden. There is nothing simply plain in this world and sometimes things look just upsides down and very confusing. Still, thinkers will go on thinking and knowing the real answers. Isn't it all very fishy and mind boggling ? You have penned a wonderful and a very thought provoking poem. I relished it much and it excited the mind from all ends.

Every person sees life from different perspectives so each one obviously has a different opinion from watching a movie to having a conversation.

Hi Dream On, I enjoyed reading your Hub on Life, how it is seen. I think somewhere in the middle lies the truth. But one persons vision is not necessarily the next persons, and so then it becomes complicated...In the end, we have to think for ourselves, and decide what is fact and what is fiction, and with the media today, what is just entertainment and not news at all.

      Hi DREAM-ON.

Where this will lead?- to answer your question should go to a forum, my guess. Then again as experience teaches forums have wide range of personal opinions, which consequently is the case each of us. Your analyzes lead to certain conclusion: who is saying truth and what to believe ? Well, this is my conclusion of a matter: If a person/agency/institution lied once, chances are nothing after that is truth or believable. Why bother to be victimized ? The government lies, media lies, churchism lies every time they want take away more of your freedom and take control over you you'll be presented with sugarcoated lies. We are living in real-spiritual world fighting for the soul of man, lying is a spiritual force of the "enemy". Opposite to it is a "Truth bearer" who pointed out to these two spiritual forces :Good and evil; right and wrong ; Righteousness and unrighteousness. You get the idea. "Nothing but the facts" sounds perfectly when it's possible. What an answer be ? You've listed some good upbringing points. You do have good base for discernment your own. Use it. The same here: happiness begins where we think with our unwashed brain. Happiness also spells the Blessings, we connect with the Author.

      Voted Interesting.

Jodah To so many people it is easy to believe one way or the other. Never looking back. Instead I am on the fence. Leaning one way and thinking of the other way then as a gust of wind comes along and I am taken in a whole new direction unexpected but happy. Thank you for reading and sharing so many thoughts and insight. I wasn't even aware what I was doing to be perfectly honest. You know me better than me.

Good question Dream On. Yes it's true, a number of people can watch the same crime, and each see things differently even giving varying descriptions of the perpetrator , his clothing etc. You can see why it takes the police so long to solve some crimes. Our preconceived ideas have a big part to play in how we react to things. You can believe less and less now that you read or watch in the media. The recent revelations by whistle blowers like Edward Snowden show that the Government keeps things secret and doesn't tell us the truth. Your question is a good one, we don't know what is real. We just have to go with our gut feeling, or follow our heart.
