Who Thought Doing Nothing Could Be So Great
Maybe Not Long Term
My wife watching t.v.
Me listening but not really paying attention
Reading a little
Eating a little
Not really wanting or needing anything
I practice breathing as if was something new
Leaning back in a wooden kitchen chair
Not knowing what is holding my head up
As I smell the wonderful fresh air
Last day of my vacation
I don't really want to go anywhere
Busy all week
Now time to snooze at home
Can you believe it
At one o'clock in the afternoon
The weather is beautiful outside
I love being home and hearing the cars on my street
At all different times
Quitely whistling by
Not a loud noise
Different humming sounds
Some made by trucks
Other noises and slight car rattles
A plane humming overhead
The birds chirping louder and louder
As the wind chimes ding
Swinging back and forth
Making the day even more relaxing
Now I hear the crickets do their thing
Somebody lit some fireworks in a distance
A quick pop
Followed by three more boom, boom, bangs
This is the day
I just melt away
Like butter left out in the warm sun
