Who Will Win The Game Of Cat And Mouse ?

Updated on December 12, 2012

Every Day A New Challange

Who is smarter of the two

The cat who has born instincts to attack or the mouse who runs and hides

Charlette my life long enemy

A female cat who has eye sight keener than me

With lightning speed on her side how can I avoid her every move

I have years of knowledge I can tap into

My family tree shows everyone who has made a mistake

So costly that all my loved ones have dwindled one at a time

Now I am the sole survivor

I can google the history of cats and find out every weakness

A cat sleeps eighty percent of the day

Cats don't like to be sprayed with water

There seems to be no special time when she walks around and makes her rounds

She can be fascinated by just a little movement or be bored instantly

The slightest sound will activate her excellent hearing

I am safe in my house a hole in the wall where she can't go

No matter how hard she tries

Sooner or later I will have to make my move and go looking for food

Many times she climbs high to get an ideal vantage point

Watching my every step

Because of her size there are many places places I can hide

I know I am safe and she can't reach me

Along radiators and baseboards under bureas are just a few of my favorite spots

Behind the bookcase and way under the bed into the christmas decorations

Inside the littlest spaces

Up in the closet behind all the winter coats

I have no back bone so I can go almost anywhere

There is one problem

I am not sure if I can get there in time from here

Charlette the cat has an incredible sense of smell

She can track my scent from two weeks ago

Let me think with time on my side

She is gone now but for how long

I don't know

Where she is I am not sure

The house is quiet and I will make my move

Wish me luck as a run in search for food

If I am successful I will have filled my belly

If I make the wrong move

I will have to run for my life

Then I could face an aweful fate

If I don't return you know I have met my match

Then Charlette will be one fat cat

A cute eulogy about a mouse that must certainly know its own fate. Charlette, just purrs contentedly, with visions of mouse pudding in her dreams. Well done, my friend. whonu
