Who is your favorite author

Updated on January 2, 2012

When you read a book, especially when it comes to fiction do you have a certain author that you like to read because of the way they write? I am like that, I have certain authors that I like to read because they find a way to make their story plot very interesting that you don't want to want to put the book down.
I like to read books that have mystery, drama, action, suspense and romance all in one or one of those few genres in one. I will say that one author that does that has been my favorite ever since I started reading their books. Nora Roberts is a great writer and her books do not just have romance in it. Some of her books have suspense and romance or even action in it. Her books can keep my attention for a long time that I do not want to put her book down.
I also like how Jayne Ann Krentz writes because she puts a lot of ideas in her books that make the plot really good. I know that she writes as a different authors as well and all those books are also good.
I have named two of my favorite authors even though I have so many more. But to those of you who read this hub, who is your favorite author and what genre do they write?

I typically read to empty my mind... I enjoy R A Salvador and L E Modesitt Jr. both of whom are gods in the fantasy world... What I enjoy about their writing is that you can read it and follow a story but still you have to think.

I have quite a few favorites. Lately I've been on a Dean Koontz kick. Only a couple more of his horror/mystery novels and I'll have read them all!

I am a big Kathy Reichs fan... I love that her books have so much scientific fact in them, and they are very well-written mysteries that are still very realistic.

My favorite modern author, who I enjoy reading the most at this point in my life, is John Grisham. Not just his legal thrillers, either. Anything he's written is, for me, enjoyable to read. The Painted House was an amazing story outside his normal legal fiction works.
