Why Do We Love The Bad ?

Updated on December 12, 2012

Is It More Interesting ?

Look around you and pick up a newspaper

Filled with the news of the day

I don't find it newsworthy and far from nice

Where are all the good people that live every day

As boring as it might be to some

We don't make front page headlines or a special edition

We aren't heard on the six or eleven oclock news

It is time we change things around

What is it that makes the news ?

Is it really true bad news sells

I think it is a myth that I will prove it wrong

I think we were sold a bill of goods and have been tricked long enough

I understand not all news is good news

But why can't we fill the news up with eighty percent good people and the other twenty percent with bad and horrific stories

When I turn off the news I am led to believe the world is mostly bad

Next time you watch the news you tell me what part of the news you remember

The good people who left an impression or the bad things that you are bombarded with day after day

Have you heard of copycats who recreate something they have seen

They do something that is aweful and are looking for attention

Well why can't we have the good people be copycats too

Looking for new ways to help a neighbor or a friend

Making life more interesting than the bad people and the crooks

Bring the best out and let children learn from example

Too often I hear adults complainng about the kids of today

Well we haven't left a good enough example

So what do we expect

If you start with an onion and slowly peel the onion with your hands

Cut it in half and then into slices

I am sure we all would be crying before long

An onion is an onion and we all are affected the same way

Continual bad news is still bad news

It makes us think

Is this our life and what we can expect in the future

Where are the good people ?

What happened to the good things we were told for so many years

Do we just throw it out the window ?

Change starts here and now

I hear many adults say I don't watch the news or read the paper any more

It is all the bad news it makes me sad

Does anyone see what I see

Please tell me if you do

How does the news affect you ?

GypsyRose Lee I do that to.If I read the paper I get real aggrivated and frustrated because I feel helpless. When innocent people get hurt. That could of been me.Maybe most people in the world also agree. What if there was a way we could make a difference.Change the way newspapers are written.Change the way people think. It is a huge leap but in time it can be done.Changes start small and then people get behind it and they make suggestions and progress is made. What do you think?Either way another day in progress and I am off to try my best.Thanx so much for your comment.

There was a time in NYC when I didn't read one single newspaper but the readio and TV still said it all. Then I realized that it's all in the attitude. Sure the world's not perfect, too may bad people and so on but they have nothing to do with my life. So I just let the bad news go by and live my life and worry more about my little world since I can't change the big world.
