Why Dreams May Come

Updated on January 18, 2011

We live an illusion...

what we see is what we get...

what we fear is what haunts our steps...

what we desire is how we live...

what we don't want what we obtain...

We close our eyes and our self can speak...

existing but not speaking to the illusion that thinks...

mostly because we don't desire the truth...

only what we want to see...

the whole story granting indigestion...

a place where the light and shadows play for real...

where we must choose a side and stay there...

our souls in peril...

all we can lose...

Still in our dreams we can escape or know...

which we choose is a matter of will...

will to see what our minds won't consider...

or to find something addictive to do...

will to remember and write down our feelings...

Accepting that we weren't in charge enough to understand...

some of it real and others a fiction...

knowing what is what...

a feeling, intuition...

in touch with our core we must be...

open to all the nastiness as well as the pretty...

honest beyond a question you see...

Inspiration comes to the honest...

reach out to the laws you know...

master yourself...

do what is right...

grow as that leads you to grow...

along the way when you sleep...

you will see things...

showing you you do right...

then your days complete...

productive indeed...

a way to a better self...

refining gold.

such rumination gives much space for introspection and deep thought doesn't it?

      Very nice!

This reminded me a little of Inception. The reality within the dream within reality. Do we seek respite from our realities, and then run from our dreams when we awake? Are our warnings reflections of what we fear, yet are untrue?

They are a fascination and a realm that has few certainties for sure.

Dreams have always fascinated me. Sometimes a dream opens a question I have never before considered, and one that I ponder over a lifetime. They can be unsettling or comforting; joyous or a warning. I am grateful for them.

      Thanks for sharing.

Malin and Q, regardless of how you dream it is my hope that you keep on dreaming. It is a part of the human experience that is a shame and even damaging to give up.

      "Inspiration comes to the honest..."

This poem has a great message, really. Very thought provoking and real. We close our eyes and our self can speak. Great job and thanks for sharing.

I'm not sure I dream this way...some dreams are of family and friends, some, I really don't remember...some are nightmares...But you have put an interesting spin on the subject...Thanks for sharing this lovely Poem.

some even go by visions, sometimes this happens at night to. They are usually private guides to let us know we are where we need to be or warnings that we aren't where we need to be.

The subtlety of the rhyme keeps this a poem and allows the message within to still remain prevalent without becoming bogged by words trying to match.

Day dreams are usually considered grandiose and/or impossibilities, this post shows that some dreams need to be grounded and dreamt daily...
