Why I write..a Revelation..by Whonunuwho

words, metaphorical or true essences to reveal

words so airy and from wide open spaces

words to reveal a storm's near approach

a serene evening paints its portrait  in the distance.

As in most writer's list of reasons to write,

mine are numerous, as my words take flight.

A message may be sent in one poignant word,

uplifting to some, to be read and not heard.


Not as some empty log, rolled down a long hill,

poetic words can be of value, and a void to fill.

Brightening one someone's loneliness and fears,

To stand as a lighthouse, a sentinel, for dears.


Words may express our deepest fond strengths,

show what we feel, without going to such lengths.

A powerful script written upon the blank page,

Words full of glory, or a displaying one's rage.


A discussion of vital issues, a statement of society,

an unveiling of falseness, a revealing of sweet purity.

A chance in the sharing of someone's past lives,

a written testimonial, showing how our love thrives.


A mincing of reality, a blending with serendipity,

feelings once on hold, laid out, in a readability.

"Writer's Block" is never a description I reserve,

It is how I display with every sinew and nerve.

      Brilliant and it brought back a memory to me of a day when I couldn't find anything to write about so I ended up writing a humorous poem about 'writers block' ;hence end of 'writers block'.

      I agree with every line in this poem! The freedom in your words reminds me of the release I feel on nights when I have to stay up writing because I cannot sleep...it's amazing.
