Wildflowers

Running through the fields

Memories call by name

Thoughts of her childhood

Swiftly lingering

Bouncy long blonde curls

Smelling sweet daisy scents

Laughter echoed through

The warm summer air

Playing hide and seek

Crickets churning

Everywhere

Far off wide

All different colors

Painted the terrain

All she heard were

Giggles

Children's laughter

Bringing a smile to her face

Pink and red sunsets

Flowers all around

A field of wishes

Too wild to be tamed

Too innocent to be found

caroline - I'll look for it. The blue bonnets are in bloom here in Texas and that is a spectacular sight to see.

Wonderful poem, Caroline, I remember my youth when I would go walking in our 40-acre wild haymeadow. I would find anemones, buttercups, spiderworts, and my favorite, the orange tiger lily. Our meadow wasn't quite as colorful as your picture but the flowers were there

"Too innocent to be found." Lovely images and thoughts. I think I'm going to like following you. Poets such as yourself bring such beauty into the world and you have now brightened my day as I start it out. Thank you for that gift and I accept it gratefully.
