Updated on May 1, 2017

Winnie the Pooh

Winnie The Pooh, the world's most beloved bear, also called Pooh Bear, is a fictional teddy bear created by A. A. Milne. Learn more about this beloved bear and check out these quotes, books, and gifts I have posted on this page.

Who can resist Pooh Gifts? The Tao of Pooh is one of my favorite books, one that I pick up to read ever so often and one that I like to quote from. The Tao of Pooh makes a great gift for anytime of the year..

Birthday of A. A. Milne

We celebrate Jan 18 as the Birthday of A. A. Milne, the author of Winnie the Pooh, a bear that is loved by young and old.

"Winnie the Pooh has a certain way about him, a way of doing things which has made him the world's most beloved bear." "..While Eeyore frets and Piglet hesitates... and Rabbit calculates and Owl pontificates... Pooh just... IS..." ~~Benjamin Hoff, The Tao of Pooh

Winnie The Pooh (Theme Song)

Winnie the Pooh, a bear of very little brain, tends to be a bit on the slow side (his head is full of fluff, you know...a common occurrence among teddy bears) but his heart more than makes up for that.

The Complete Tales and Poems of Winnie-the-Pooh

Celebrate the beloved "silly old bear". with his special volume brings together all of the Pooh stories and all of the poems in one full-color, large-format book.

Since their publication first appeared in 1926, A.A. Milne’s enchanting tales and playful verses have been treasured and adored by generations of children, and Winnie-the-Pooh is as popular today as ever.

The Tao of Pooh

This is one of my favorite books! Amazon lists it as the #1 Best Seller in History of Books.

Thought-provoking and charming, The Tao of Pooh provides invaluable lessons on simplicity and natural living through brilliant and witty dialogue between the author and the beloved Pooh-bear and his companions.

Author/narrator Hoff calls Winnie the Pooh a "Western Taoist" and uses the unassuming bear to introduce Eastern philosophical principles.

This is an excellent book to add to your permanent library, whether you embrace Taoism or not.

"Its message of peace and tolerance is one that all faiths can understand and embrace - and well they should. Can't recommend this one highly enough." ~Caz

About The Tao of Pooh

"...about the world's most loved bear: The 'Tao of Pooh' explains Taoism by Winnie the Pooh and explanes Winnie the Pooh by Taoism. It makes you understand what A.A. Milne probably meant when he said he didn't write the Pooh-books for children in the first place."

About The Book The Tao of Pooh

Hoff begins his book like this, with a dialog between himself and Winnie-the-Pooh

"What's this you're writing?" asked Pooh, climbing onto the writing table.

"The Tao of Pooh," I replied.

"The how of Pooh?" asked Pooh, smudging one of the words I had just written.

"The Tao of Pooh," I replied, poking his paw away with my pencil.

"It seems more like the ow! of Pooh," said Pooh, rubbing his paw.

"Well, it's not," I replied huffily.

"What's it about?" asked Pooh, leaning forward and smearing another word.

"It's about how to stay happy and calm under all circumstances!" I yelled.

"Have you read it?" asked Pooh.

Quotes From The Book Winnie the Pooh

"When you wake up in the morning, Pooh," said Piglet at last, "what's the first thing you say to yourself?"

"What's for breakfast? said Pooh. "What do you say, Piglet?"

"I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?" said Piglet.

Pooh nodded thoughtfully.

"It's the same thing," he said.

>>>>>>>

"Rabbit's clever," said Pooh thoughtfully.

"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit's clever."

"And he has Brain."

"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit has Brain."

There was a long silence.

"I suppose," said Pooh, "that's why he never understands anything."

>>>>>>

"Just How do you do it, Pooh?"

"Do What?" asked Pooh.

"Become so Effortless."

"I don't do much of anything," he said.

"But all those things of yours get done."

"They just sort of happen," he said

>>>>>>

"Lots of people talk to animals," said Pooh.

"Not that many listen though."

"That's the problem."
