Winter a new horizon

Updated on November 3, 2012

It's August again begin to feel the chill

In the air every morning

So cool before dawning

Days getting shorter

We are on the last lap

It happens each year

Though we choose to forget

Act all surprised when leaves begin to fall

Where did the time go

It passed me by while I was mowing the lawn

Hope it's not a long winter again

Bet it will be

It usually is

Wish we could hybernate til it's all over

I think we oughta

I like Autumn just as the air starts to freshen up. I don't like the shorter daylight hours though.

Wouldn't it be great to be a bear and hibernate till spring comes again! Great thoughts reading it brought cold winds to mind.

    Welcome to Hub Pages,

Glad you added the stunning fall photos to illustrate this hub. The words expressed in your poem mirror the way I feel when I see the exquisite colors of fall and know the trees will soon be barren. I try to savor every moment, knowing this incredible beauty is fleeting, just like everything else in life.

    Rated up and interesting.
