Winter in My Heart ~ a Poem
Sugar sweet sparkles in the land
Twinkle stars glitter in my hand
Angels’ breaths shower from afar
A beautiful cry in the sky
A Cardinal sings promise, why?
When they say we shall not last long
Just like any soft winter song
In their hearts voices concierto
In our hearts no stain remain
Each time we hear their words of pain.
Bitter friends, so what do they know?
Like to steal our shoes for snow
It’s ours to run together
Our love keeps the warmth in them
They do not believe; they condemn.
Our winter love is all worth
Brought by the winter winds of north
Hummed beautiful songs all of peace
Smiles burn fire and dewy lips glow
In the midst of the purest snow.
Dainty snowflakes fall here and there
Softer than cotton on my hair
You lean over and gently blow,
Two shine in your pupils you see
They’re wrong; we’ve proven them to be.
Like winter swans we glide in grace
Flap our arms in love’s embrace
Then, like crowned cranes we dance so free
Moving like timeless winter storm
Laughter, more snowfall, we conform.
“Dear angels,” I speak silently
“Please bring more snow for him and me”
Our spirits are warm inside
December trust, faith in the cold
Sees a Blue Jay with eyes like gold.
Christmas is here, you’re at my door
Gift of jewels I so adore
Pulsating true as your heartbeat
Yes my Sweetheart, I love you too
Oh, winter in my heart IS you.
