Winter's sonata....... poem

Updated on February 7, 2015

Walking from one frosted window to another
the ivories softly tinkling E minor from above

I reminisce of many years gone by of other
winters and songs I love

I am of too small a mind to know how
to play my own music and song

Yet not so small that I cannot love
the melody as it plays along

The dawn leaves me but melancholy
morning is in it's own mood

I wish it would last but this mindful monochrome
does me no good

The dogs roll slowly over side by side
they look at me as if to say

Will you be like this awhile or are we
going for a walk today

Lovely! Including the dog makes the mood so perfect!

The sonata mood pervades. Perhaps the dogs hear the undercurrents in its melody! Perhaps to them, the frost enhances the music!

A smile upon my face as I enjoy this sonata. Such a lovely vision you have painted with your words. Those dogs finished it up perfectly.
